I would hope that the storyline of Halo 3 Recon will take us past the end of Halo 3, where MC is nearing that mysterious planet (with the ominous music), which seemed an obvious setup for a sequel. Bungie has sworn that Halo would be a trilogy, and they're tiptoeing around that by making another Halo 3 game, not 'Halo 4', so if they take the story far enough, we'll know what happens on that planet without them having to make yet another game.

guys, honsetly we all want a new story line, but i personally DONT WANT TO PAY FOR A NEW GAME! Second, ill be ticked-off if i see master chief way too much in it! will bungie make this just an update to halo 3 (maybe add the new hero to matchmaking skin/armor?) or else, why name it halo 3 Recon? Why not just name it "HALO Recon; a new hero"? bungie will most likely make a new "secret armor" (like recon) ? and will there still be LIVE? Thanks bungie guys! (note i did this off a reply by accident)

The graphics may look well in the video, but its the video, it was most likely rendered before hand, and is not an equal representation of what it will look like in game. Just like Halo 3. The trailer boasted great graphics, but when you get somewhat close up they start to really suck. [Edited on 10.13.2008 7:17 PM PDT]

Ok, I get everything about the game and all, but I have one question. If you will play as an ODST, will the player have the shielding that the Chief has, or will you not have any shields which would be pretty much one hit kill?

Why would they have different hoppers with the same maps? Doesn't that divide the Halo community between the Recon players and the Halo players? What is the logic behind this move?

I said Bungie is good at FPS, I def will play the game I just didn't expect something like this to pop up in the trilogy. It was Ballsy enough to introduce the Arbitor as a character, now this?

I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way but I play Halo because I like Master Chief introducing this whole other character doesn't really tickle my fancy. Bungie is really good at FPS but a lot of us want to see the Chief.

[i] Will we get to play as ODSTs in multiplayer now? No. The multiplayer maps included with the retail package are straight up Halo 3 multiplayer maps. The ODST and other components that make up the Recon campaign are in a separate bucket and not crossing over into the competitive multiplayer realm. Think of it as two games in one. [/i] So the game will have the stand alone recon campaign and the halo 3 multiplayer same as halo 3. Why not add ODST to halo 3 multiplayer? So someone who doesnt have halo 3 but gets recon will play with spartan characters in the multiplayer part of the game that doesn't even use them in the campaign.
