I'm in my mid 40s. I think a lot of people our age are self conscious about still enjoying what has traditionally been a pastime 'for kids.' That's why it bothers us to hear kids voices in chat. That and the fact that they sound like fingernails on a chalkboard, or maybe the high pitched whine of a dentist's drill.
