You're looking at things in a pretty unrealistic way.
Comet (If exists) it's going to be an add-on, running on exactly the same graphic engine and using the same physics from the base game.
Releasing it for current gen only wouldn't change anything. DLCs don't improve any core features of the game, they're just more content based on the base game.

If only this was how it worked

How it works then?

Here is a man with some sense.
-
If exists? It's been confirmed already
-
Where? Can I have source?

Remember the picture of all the dlcs and their content planned, it was fuzzy and was taken as a leak. Later on, bungie released the a clear and well detailed version of the exact same photo.
-
That wasn't bungie, there's no official statement regarding that picture.

i feel like deej has talked about it or at least mentioned it on the twitch streams i think gothian brought it up when he asked about the no raid and deej i think said it was goin to be in comet or a dlc separate from HoW. could be wrong but i got an ich that makes think this is true.

I'd appreciate if you find it. I'm truly excited about it.

Map size, enemies on map.

We don't know how the game engine is designed, it could be capped to the current maximum number of enemies for the sake of performance on older consoles... Everything we say it's pure speculation since the only thing we know for sure is that the engine was designed for optimal performance on last gen.
-
It is a fact that the map size and enemy count could be higher on current gen than on last gen. Would they do it? Are they even capped right now for previous gen? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know and I may never find out.

It's a fact current gen consoles are more powerful and can handle more enemies and bigger maps, but some developers limit their engines to prevent crashes and optimize performance. We don't know if bungie did this with their tiger engine. As I said before, all that we know is that the engine is designed for optimal performance on old gen...
