Thorn nerf petition (there could be other solutions than a nerf)
Before you read understand something, there is other solutions than a thorn nerf. Bungie maybe could buff auto rifles back up and give scout rifles a little more kick too. This would make thorn not the only go to weapon.
But besides that, Thorn is obviously the most used weapon in crucible right now. And it's becoming more apparent how powerful it actually is. I personally feel it needs a nerf, and if anyone else thinks it does too, bump this post. If you don't think it does, then continue on. I respect your opinion.
Maybe if we can could draw a good amount of attention to this it would spread to Bungie. Keep bumping and write your thoughts on this below.
I didn't post this due to the fact that it's just an annoying weapon people use, or the fact that it's overused. All I know is I've put in a good amount of time into crucible and I fully have seen this gun in action and it's a little too powerful. Its in obvious need of some tweaking. It's a little too good in a lot of people's opinions.
Someone pointed something very smart out. Maybe if other weapons were buffed up (such as autorifles) that thorn wouldn't need a nerf. Smart people out there.

You have all 32's so it doesn't apply to you but a 32 using a thorn on a lesser level is going to hit harder and get better dot in the IB, which is why I think a lot of these posts have come up. I also think lag is a big problem because if you're even slightly behind real time that thorn user is probably going to get off 3 or 4 shots to to how ever many you take and you're probably not hitting him. And now, what do you see in the IB? Hand Cannons, Pulse rifles and MIDA's. I've been killed by exactly one Suros the whole week and I remember it because I was so surprised someone was using it. Buff the auto rifles some and then you'll see less thorns and less hand cannons in PvP. I'd love to see a decent buff to the suros would do to PVP.

4 RepliesHand cannons in general, especially the big 3 (thorn, tlw, and hawk moon) need increased damage drop off at range. If they were to effectively implement that and rebuff ARs, I'd be happy.

Everyone always bitches about nerfing guns how about you stop complaining and just play the damn game adjust to the weapons that are good either use the same gun or find a gun that you can use that works well for you

Thorn does need a change and the change is either to reduce the clip back to what it was, or reduce the rof to what it was or to decrease stability back to what it was. Or reduce either the damage amount or time of the DoT effect and have it canceled if the thorn user is killed. Any of these would begin to bring thorn back in to balance for pvp. but all the thorn abusers would cry about it and defend no change is needed for the fact they abuse it because of how easy it is to get kills with in pvp.

2 RepliesBungie is most likely very aware of the role hand cannons have in crucible right now, and this post will probably not have any effect on what they will do. They constantly gather data and they can see which guns are being used and which aren't (as shown when they did the auto rifle nerf and pulse rifle buff). Will thorn be nerfed? Maybe, but in the end will it ever really matter? Something else will always become viewed as "overpowered" in the crucible and people will always call for nerfs when they are killed by a gun enough. I doubt they'll be doing any big weapon balances for awhile since they just finished the previous one, but honestly I'd prefer if they just left things alone. Thorn is not invincible by any means and if you learn to play against it you can beat it. Either way, I doubt they'll be moving the stats around before the iron banner is over so you might as well try and learn to play against it.

Its just we need a lot of weapons restored or buffed to counter. Bungie should have never nerfed anything. All they had to do was buff Pulse rifles since nobody used them. And buff the scouts because nobody uses them. This would have given all the players choices on whatever they wanted.
