Sometimes in life it is more difficult and painful to move pass an bad experience, but we do and we must move pass it. It will be hard and painful, but as time passes the hardship lessens and the pain dulls and when we look back on those events, we realize that we are better off now and are a better person. I've had my heart broken on a few occasion including one that turned my world completely upside down and still pains me today whenever I stop and think about certain things from my past - even after 25ish years. Yes, I'm an old fart... But if that relationship didn't end when it did, I would never have met and feel in love with the woman, who would became my wife and who blessed me with a beautiful daughter. Without sounding too cliche, but keep yourself active. Talk to someone who you can trust to give you some sound advice, or who can just sit with an open ear and closed mouth. Take everything in stride - some days will be better than others and some days will feel as if the world is bearing it's anger directly at you. Find something to keep you active, especially early on - whether it's something minimal as reading a book or as big as an weekend excursion. I'm sure I can throw a hundred more cliches towards you, but the bottom line is allow yourself time to come to terms and except that you made the right decision and based on what your wrote - I think you made the right call.
