I like the new ammo changes in pvp. That Being said, special ammo is still too easy to acquire. A good fix would be changing the special ammo to work more like heavy ammo where as you lose it all upon death. Making this change would put more of an emphasis on knowing where special ammo spawns on map, controlling those sections of the map, and keeping a closer eye on spawn times.
Just my two cents but I think it would be a good change.
Keep up the good work Bungie! I've been a long time fan of yours and truly appreciate everything you guys do. Looking forward to HoW and mixing it up in Trials and Prison of Elders.

Enough with this shit already! FFS, you nerfbunnies already got your wish with the special ammo! Now I get 4 rounds in my sniper, and have to wait another 2 minutes to get any more! Stop with this nonsense, seriously - you guys already made 99% of the Fusion rifles useless in PvP, and managed to chop the balls off from the other two special weapon types. Why not just make special and heavy weps non-existent in PvP, so then all you guys can complain about how handcannons, PR's, Scouts, etc are way too OP, and all we will have left is basically sarcastaball...

Not lose all but a certain %. I have field scout and my chest adds more special. I hardly ever run out. Yes needs to be nerfed down a bit. It is getting to be shotguns all day again in pvp.
-
Well damn. Let's not have no guns in PvP at all. Everyone melee only. Wtf is wrong with y'all.
-
That's stupid
-
22 RepliesCompletely agree. IMO, you should start with no secondary, lose it upon death, and disable regen secondary weapons. They should be earned and special...not the gun some primary most of the time.

I always played a mix of primary/special usage and as such have not overly been impacted by the change. Maybe on a map like Pantheon or Skyshock do I feel the lack of sniper bullets towards later stages of the round - but I think that just falls within the intended usage level of special weapons. If you do play somewhat conservatively with the ammo, and find a few boxes throughout the round, you shouldn't run out. In terms of opposition, I have noticed a significant increase in primary weapon use. I would vote against your suggestion of losing ammo on death, for a number of reasons. One, heavy ammo works that way because it's meant to be a quick rush of fireworks and then done - special is not quite at that tier of devastation. Two, it widens the gap between players of different skill levels. How do you counter a highly skilled shotgun user on Anomaly if your team is out of special ammo? Or a team of snipers on Shores of Time? It's doable, but you are at a severe disadvantage. Three, it is simply too easy to die. One bit of lag, bad luck, a poor angle, or whatever, and you start out with only one weapon for an option. Removing options is one way to make games less fun for players.

It's fine as is. It's not plentiful in supply, and the spec ammo crates are in more dangerous areas. They don't need to change it again.
-
I haven't noticed a huge difference between pre/post patch, then again I don't heavily rely on special ammo.
-
IF special ammo were to decrease, it should only be shotgun ammo. Snipers are suffering enough already. Only about 8% of kills (last time I looked at Bungie's numbers) are from snipers. So only a tiny % of people use snipers and depending on the sniper, sometimes I only get 4 bullets. 6 bullets max. That's awful.
-
:s or you can set someone on your team to run around grabbing all the special ammo denying it to the enemy. Never let the enemy get it dont have to worry about dying to it.
-
Good idea but the thorn bounty would be close to impossible

4 RepliesEdited by Stunt Dik: 5/4/2015 9:26:38 PMI say just use the ammo to help the adjective! Complete the objective and get special ammo! Like capping a control point grants you green ammo box that you can pick up
-
I'm all about stopping shotguns from ravaging the crucible but I don't think this is that great of an idea.
-
Just remove the timer and it'll be perfect.
-
1 ReplyIt's fine the way it is. If you dial it back anymore. You might as well remove special weapons.
-
1 ReplyI prefer it the way it is now
-
No, it's fine.
-
5 RepliesIf you're having problems with teams using only special still. You need to start picking up ammo boxes even when you don't need them. This deprives them of special ammo.
-
2 RepliesI thinks lot more people use their primary more now like tlw or thorn than shotguns and snipers
-
Yeah... No
-
3 RepliesLol, no. Dumb thread.
-
15 RepliesI believe your whiny presence in PvP can be dialed back. If you don't like this game because of what you're dying to, DON'T PLAY. Go back to CoD where Nerf bullets keep you safe from pain. -_-
-
I have couple of fusion rifles that never seem to run out of ammo. I still run with them most of the match. I tried using my primary more, but everybody is using bitch ass hand cannons now, so i dont feel bad.
-
It's fine the way it is atleast in my opinion I run out of special quite often and don't recover it for a while.
-
I like it where its at I see waayyyy more primaries than before
-
I think it's ok where it's at. There are less shotgun spammers and final rounders overall.
