Before you read this, just read the whole thing, and don't be like, "This guy sucks, just use another weapon!"

The Iron Banner Bounty, "Defeat 20 Guardians with Primary Weapon headshots while competing in the Iron Banner." is not filling up when I use Vex.
1. Am I playing Iron Banner? = yes
2. Am I using a Primary* Weapon to get headshots? = yes
3. Is my bounty getting completed? = NO
* = The Vex is in the PRIMARY weapons slot, uses PRIMARY weapon ammo, and uses PRIMARY ammo synths.
What part of any of that description uses the word SPECIAL?
Why can I not use the Vex, a PRIMARY weapon, to get headshots to get my bounty completed?
I know some people will say, "Well it is a fusion rifle so therefor it is a special weapon." NO! It is a PRIMARY weapon therefore I should be able to complete the Iron Banner Bounty with it.
I also know some people will say, " Just use another weapon dude, stop whining."
And I will reply, " I like using the Vex and don't see why the game doesn't think it is a primary weapon."
To Bungie: Everything about this weapon is Primary other than it shoots fusion rifle bullets (not even like a fusion rifle), please allow me to fill up the bounty with the Vex. It is a primary weapon and I am getting headshots from it.
Is it really too much to ask?

counts/registered as a fusion rifle, fusion rifles are in the secondary slots so it doesnt count as primary even it is equipped at primary.
-
It's a fusion rifle in a primary slot. Like how you can have a shot gun in primary and secondary
-
Its a secondary, used in the primary slot. That's why

1 ReplyEdited by jacob81x: 5/1/2015 1:31:29 AMit is a primary because of the perks there derp derp, because it is a fusion rifle it falls under special. do some research before posting dumb crap

I noticed the same thing man it's BS

Now I don't own a vex mytho, so my understanding could be incorrect, but if it fires fusion rifle bullets, then despite other characteristics it can be called a fusion rifle. And what do we know about fusion rifles? they do not affect critical damage. Hence, you technically cannot get headshots with the vex, as it wouldn't register as a critical hit. At least, that's my guess.

"Well it is a fusion rifle so therefor it is a special weapon." " Just use another weapon dude, stop whining."

7 RepliesThere are a lot of inconsistencies with this gun... Knucklehead radar works with it (supposedly only for primaries), uses primary ammo (supposedly special weapon equipped in prime spot), cannot get fusion sprees (supposedly a fusion rifle - oh, and yet at the same time you can get the 2 enemies at once 20 times with a fusion rifle bounty...), can't get the IB headshot bounty with it... I really don't care what it is classified as, I just wish it were consistent =/ - Bboy

If you look in your Grimoire cards you'll notice the Vex falls under special weapons. I believe it's just the perk that allows it to be equipped in the primary slot.
-
2 RepliesThe gun is a special the perk simply lets you use it in a primary slot
-
Read the weekly Same thing happens nlb
-
1 ReplyJust use Suros like everyone else

The way the game is coded it's bundled in with secondary. That's why the fusion rifle nerf also nerfed the Vex and they finally patched it recently. Gotta use something else for that bounty, however the Eris bounty for kills with secondary weapons on hive as well as the vanguard one for 2 or more enemies Vex will work on it. Grab both of those, awaken the hive, and you'll burn they those quickly : )
-
3 Repliescheck your grim for vex. It's in the specials category. it is technically a special just able to be equipped as a primary
-
Go look at Grimoire and see where the vex is placed
-
Look at mission stats after a strike while using vex. they all count as special weapon kills but still is annoying. I use thorn until I finish the headshot bounty then go to vex.
-
I believe the weapon says it is a special weapon with a perk that allows* it to be equipped in the primary weapon slot.
* meaning you have no choice.
I agree, it should count as a primary. Add it to the lobby list of things that probably will never be fixed.
-
Agreed. It pissed me off not being able to get NLB (anomoly go to) headshots to count.
-
5 RepliesI realized this too. On the opposite side of this if you can use the Vex for the fusion rifle bounty then it's only right that you can't use it for the primary headshots.
-
bro experiencing the same problem! i want to use my nlb but my headshots arent counting. god dammit bungie just let me use my favorite gun
-
Though Vex is equipped in the Primary slot, it is considered a secondary under the grimoire. It counts as secondary kills.
-
Man, I've been wondering the same thing. Head shot sprees clear but not the other head shot bounties. Hope it gets fixed.
-
The Vex, Universal Remote, and NLB are all technically secondaries, check the Grimiore
-
Because its still a fusion rifle. Which is a secondary
-
1 ReplyIt's the same issue for No Land Beyond. I was looking forward to completing the Focused Aggression Bounty with it, but I guess I will just have to settle for completing Longshot with it.
-
So basically, the vex IS a secondary weapon. Its "hidden" perk is being able to hold it in your primary slot
