Here's the thing I keep hearing
"I would never shotgun"
"TLW is for scrubs"
"I'm too good to use exotics"
"Bladedancer is cheap"
All these I constantly hear from people who can't hold a positive KD and do NOTHING for their teammates. There's an old saying you've heard that goes "if you can't beat em..."
If you are not great then you need the great weapons and that is completely fair. I am not going to go to war with America if I'm Zimbabwe. Why? Because America has the "OP" weapons.
When you played halo did you refuse to pick up the sniper rifle or shotgun? Oh heck no!
All is indeed fair in war and this, my friends, is war. Do you want to drag your team down or help? Do you want to be pissed at pvp or have fun?
Then grab The Last Word, whip out that glorious shotgun and blink around the map like a madman! I will thank you, Your team will thank you and you will have a much more enjoyable time playing pvp.
Edit: I thought it was fairly obvious that if you can run well without the "op" weapons than this thread does not apply to you. It's meant for those that struggle to keep up and help their team out. Lol so many salty tears over this post.

2 RepliesLast iron banner I participated in I owned with the MIDA. I still regularly outgun thorn and tlw user in Pvp with it. Weapons don't make the player. That's what I'm getting at. Players make the weapon.

Red Death, LDR and Nova Bomb FTW!
-
Blade dancer isn't even that good anymore...

10 RepliesWell see it still boils down to being able to hit the broad side of a barn with most of these weapons. I've seen this happen in Halo, COD, Battlefield and every other FPS I've played. Bad players are always going to complain and cry nerf because it doesn't matter what weapon they use, they just are not very good at the game. What happens is they see someone using TLW/Thorn or whatever and they keep getting killed over and over by the gun. So then they figure the gun is OP, they try the gun but then since they aren't a good player in terms of map knowledge, aim, etc. they still wind up dying a lot and getting few kills with the "OP" weapon of choice. Then they run to the forums and scream and cry for nerfs. This often happens with burst and single fire weapons that have a higher damage number, especially in the COD games. Higher skilled players go for these weapons because of their fast time to kill on precision shots. Bad players see them doing well and see themselves getting owned by these weapons, like the FAL and M-16 in Modern Warfare 2, and the Mk-14 and Type 95 in MW3, etc. and then they try to use those weapons but don't have the skill or the aim and they suck with them and continue to get killed so again they cry nerf. While an "OP" weapon will make a minor difference and maybe get them a few more kills, overall it isn't going to do a whole lot to uplift a bad player and make them more competitive and better. It still boils down to your aim, your map and spawn knowledge, and everything else. I used to think that it was all about guns in Destiny back when I was a terri-bad 0.30 k/d in crucible, but then I realized that guns are only a very small part of it. When I got my first auto rifle with third eye it certainly helped, and helped me move up to around a 0.60 k/d, but until I started watching Crucible videos and learning the maps, spawn flow, etc. and changed up my own playstyle, I didn't get decent at it. Now that I've made adjustments to other areas of my playstyle I'm fairly competitive and have pulled my Titan up from a 0.30 to 0.99, and his Iron Banner k/d is 1.23. I've come to realize it doesn't matter what gun you use, if you are a bad player who refuses to learn the game and adjust, you will be bad regardless of what you are using and you will cry for nerfs.

I have all the OP weapons and I still the best with three little words and MIDA. If they really were that OP why is that the case?

2 RepliesSo basically you're telling me to hop on the bandwagon and attempt utilizing tools I potentially don't care to use. Yeah, okay bud. Instead of just trying to make us use obviously ridiculous items, ask yourself why we should have to in order to be evenly matched? TLW? Thorn? Felwinter's Lie? Many people (myself included) loathe using those or other overpowered weapons- they feel crappy in my use and generally bore me to death. If a player wants to grab their Fang of Ir Yut, they shouldn't have to worry about it or it's weapon class being Underpowered. "Do you want to be mad at PvP or have fun?"- I want to have fun without being subjected to a certain gun loadout. "Then grab that Last Word, whip out that glorious shotgun and start blinking around like a madman!"- The Last Word is appaling to use. Blink is my least favorite type of movement. Shotguns are the only I consider, even then I don't care for a Felwinters. And before anybody tries to say "git gud skrub," there is no "good" when fighting consecutive, quick 84-111 crits with high stability, 84 crits with a dot, or just getting flat out one shotted from an absurd range (Unless it's a sniper). Basically, Tl;DR: Nobody should be subjected to using certain guns for equivalent power in PvP.

I like to use weapons that aren't very popular.

Preach Shax! Preach!!!
-
Thorn is a pussy gun, blade dancer is op and needs a nerf, shotguns are for pussys, i carry my team....
-
3 RepliesYall need to fear the MIDA
-
2 RepliesI hardly use shotgun in PvP, which you can check my stats for proof. I think blink shotgun is for peeps with far less skills. However I do use hand cannons and auto rifles etc. Just can't bring myself to use a shotgun. Think I tried it for a few kills and felt dirty lol
-
Excuse me while I whip this out...
-
1 ReplyI'd be happy if the random team knew how to play control...
-
3 RepliesThis! Stop complaining and use em! I personally have been rolling: Red Death two to the Mourgue Deviant Gravity. My Try-hard set up is: Thorn/hawkmoon Ldr/Two to the Morgue Deviant/hunger

The difference is that not all players have the same weapons as each other (although a good majority do because I see them all the time) and that's why people complain. If everyone has thorn in a match, guess what? It's balanced because everyone can do that to each other. some people prefer the last word (which I use on the smaller maps) and it's power is equal to that of thorn (although it outguns thorn at mid-close range). Red death cancels thorns dot. (If that doesn't tip the scales I don't know what does). Suros used to be good. I'll miss you old friend. Bottom line is there are plenty of exotics that can be used in crucible and you'll do just fine if you know what you're doing. A word about the bounty. I've done it twice now (one of them in the last iron banner). It's not hard. Especially with the word of crota. If anything xyor was more annoying to me because of how long it takes for her to spawn.

I hit rank 4 today. Done destiny for today. Can't be playing too much games a day. I use Thorn/Hawkmoon Prudence II( fast firing sniper with 2 stability perks.) Jolder's Hammer/Admonisher III(proxmity detonation) I've only played solo and I usually play to the end even on a losing team. I usually predict a loss when the other team has at least 4+ on the fireteam. I don't mind the medallion and focusing more on pvp bounties. You cannot beat communication and teamwork unless you got a team too. I was surprised when I beat 6 man fireteams like wow. I even sometimes carry teams to win. I use the weapons that I believe gives me the best chance to win. There's weapons on the line that I want so I don't care what's considered op or whatever.
-
I absolutely hate those PvP scrubs who say things like "Thorn is OP i'll never use it" etc... While they have something like a 0,47KDR
-
4 RepliesYou just confirmed you are a scrub.
-
Edited by Kody: 4/30/2015 6:08:30 PMThe game gives you opportunity after opportunity to get a good gun. Xur has sold Gally twice. TLW three times. Red Death twice. Everyone can earn Thorn. I could go on.
-
Whipping out my Thorn
-
Red death ftw
-
Everyone who hasn't watched the osiris trials reveal (whoever that would be) should watch it now. Those guys showed us the best weapon loadouts to use during iron banner. After reset go back to whatever loadout you typically use.
-
I run ghelions or mida, then felwinters or spear, and jolders hammer. Toss on dance machines with mida and go play.
-
2 RepliesYeah i got bitched at for using final round on efrideet spear lol. Why not use the most efficient killing tools?
-
1 ReplyI have no problem against TLW with my MIDA and trade kills against Thorn pretty consistently (DoT gets me after he's dead). Sometimes multiple Thorn users are a little frustrating but I just change play style a little bit. Shotguns are what get me because I suck with a shotgun. I'm getting better though and I'm having far more positive games than I did on Tuesday because I'm learning to camp corners etc
-
2 RepliesThe best players use the best guns. You're not impressing anyone by handicapping yourself.
