Why even do Iron Banner?
The armor has exactly the same perks as the normal armor.
I would think the armor should somehow be special if it is only attainable every so often.

Thanks for all your answers; a couple of you brought up the fact that the weapons are more customizable than any others, which I wasn't aware of.
Wouldn't it however also be cool to offer more pvp centered armor if it's IB? Not ONLY this armor, but as an additional option

I'm just playing out of boredom. They really should have had the pulse as a reward. At least twice as many people would be playing.

First off, raid and IB armor have higher stats than regular armor. More intellect, discipline and/or strength. Second, it's nice toix and match and not look lik everyone else and their brother. Third it gets one to be a LVL 32. Last it looks dope and like other armor it will be upgradable in HOW. What I like about it is I can wear it and be a 32 without having to wear all of my CROTA gear.

It would be cool if the armor gave a boost to Crucible rep gains or more super energy from guardian kills or something like that. The weapons are awesome, though. That's the reason I played it.

With the HOW right around the corner there is going to be a lot of new gear coming, possibly with more useful perks. I'm gonna buy the spear, because I can't get a blackhammer., and need a better sniper outside of icebreaker.

I get that some people don't do raids because they don't have time or because they're not into it but man you guys are missing out, the raids are the best part of this game imo, I do however like crucible now too, I was missing out on that.

There aren't many people who have full iron banner armor. And in a game where pretty much everyone looks the same, it feels good to stand out.

I can't get the raid helm and I'm running low on time to do raiding. So with the IB helm I can still be a 32 without an exotic.

Because I can't get the chest piece for my titan so I said screw it salad bar has the chest piece might as well play some Red Banana.

Because i want that helmet. Also you can roll your perfect pve or pvp sniper because Effrideet's Spear hits like a truck.
