I just got a ps4 plugged in everything. Got WiFi set up cuz I need that to sign into psn account!! 1st got some CW- error code thing. Then later set wifi up again and get CE-33986-9 constantly. The ps4 can obtain the IP but failed to connect. and the constant CE-33986-9 error. I'm so frustrated I contacted Comcast and Sony back and forth and turned out Comcast did help me with the port forwarding

And still not working.... Again with the CE-33986-9 errors. I even try the DNS primary and secondary 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 too but it didn't work. Anyone has anything of these problem before??

1 ReplyEthernet cable is your friend. The wifi is wonky as hell.

2 RepliesI had literally the same exact problem when I got my PS4, and I searched everywhere for answers. A LAN cable is all you need. Idk why, but the PS4 CAN NOT pick up wifi. The only answer I can find is a LAN cable; and as a bonus, it's twice as reliable and thrice as fast as wifi.
