Instanced areas are coded a certain way to restrict/confine certain actions and events.
Destiny's netcode could not handle a shift in weapons hot/cold in the tower.
For it to run smoothly you would have to enter the instanced area like you would selecting the tower/crucible and would be redundant since you would have to go to orbit/patrol anyways to test the weapon.
A work around would be to have similar coding to a "Darkness Zone" in the Tower where when you enter the area it allows you to equip a weapon and try it out.
But again this has to be another instance and allow for First person mode.
like i said, the netcode could not handle it.

What about a resident evil setup where the door closes behind you while the door in front has the spinning wheel to signify a loading screen. Like a waiting room so you don't realize you're in a loading screen.

1 Replyhonestly I think a lot of these firing rang things are coming from warframe I used to see players constantly asking for this

Edited by SniperNerf: 4/29/2015 3:07:49 AMThis is what YouTube gun reviews are for. You won't fully know if you like a weapon or not until atleast an hour after using it. Who would sit there shooting a target for an hour.

3 RepliesWe have Earth patrol. Why do we need a range?

4 RepliesI didn't think of that. But netcode? Lol I think its just called code. But you are right about the instance part. Although I think it would be very simple to add a door that you walk up to and it load nothing but a room with you and some targets.

2 RepliesMeh open world coding allows for it. They could have it. You'd just have to set it as a different area you zone into.

3 RepliesSo we can put a man on the moon in the 60s with the computing equivalency of a pocket calculator but a premier gaming studio like Bungie cannot code a firing range? Sounds weaksauce to me.

21 RepliesSomeone would find a glitch and somehow kill people The tower would be a moshpit of hell >level 1 >just got to tower >6 man fire team >gjallarhorn to the face

1 ReplyThey could just do what ME3 did on the citadel and just make there be a brief loading screen to a separate closed off area of the tower. I cant imagine it would be that hard to incorporate
