I can't confirm any of this because I don't know how the RNG works but lets just say the times I did I got better drops then normal.
Suggestions to follow:
1 - Save all of your Legendary and Exotic Engrams
--> This will allow you a greater chance at finding items.
--> You can also get the new stuff after expansion by decrypting after release.
2 - Before turning in Engrams or completing Nightfall Strikes equip green armor (you want to be lvl. 20)
--> I have found that being at max level but with nothing good equipped, you will get better drops.
--> Just yesterday I did this and turned in about 7 Legendary Engrams to find Gjallarhorn.
I may be completely off but this has worked for me. Leave comments for anything else that you have seen work. Let's beat the RNG together!

Should we count the levels this is wrong on?
-
Redeeming old engrams after dlc won't give new items.
-
No idea if your serious or trolling but if you are bungie already said engram contents are determined on drop not decryption

Just because it may have worked for you doesn't make it fact, it makes it RNG. Your first statement has been proven wrong numerous times, by numerous people.

Edited by vincam83: 4/28/2015 7:48:17 PMThe first one is absolutely wrong. I tested it last DLC. The second sounds like you got something good because you did so many back to back. Didn't increase your chances per try. Instead of one chance every so often you rolled 7 times in a row.
