I don't see how you can be an atheist if you haven't taken both arguments into full consideration.

So is noiseless purse your alt? It's like the exact opposite of you and it seems like you returned roughly a short time after that alt became prominent.

7 RepliesI haven't specifically read the bible.. However I've seen/heard/learnt lots about Christianity.. I've learnt that the bible is full of contradictions, it says to do one thing then a little later tells you to do the other.. It teaches you to be a good person, however I think every person should be that way, atheist or theist.. I'm atheist because my mind is too scientific to believe in god, however I like to follow the teachings of being a good person, even though that should apply to everyone and not just Christians.. - The voice of a 15 year old :)

2 RepliesSome do so we can; A.) So we have insight on both perspectives so we arent bias one sided pricks. B.) So we can callout bullsh!t when a christian says something hypocritical, wrong to what is actually said in that book about something or someone that he/she believes in yet acts opositely, or just straight out just making stuff up, etc. Some of us even memorise alot of it just so we can tell them its infact BS or point out a sentence if needed to. C.) Just to have a grand old funny time reading bullsh!t. If i missed anything then let me know.

Nothing like some solid sci-fi on a Sunday afternoon

I have. Not much though.

I have taken the bible into consideration. Found a lot of plot holes, a lot of bullshit, and the flash walking on water, but in the bible his name is Jesus.

29 RepliesDo you think being agnostic is close to atheism
-
Haven't read it completely, but I've tried hard to study and understand what's in the bible. It helps remind me of why I'm an atheist.
-
If they're completely wasted, yeah.

2 RepliesYou can't really claim you're an atheist unless you've studied some parts of religions.

Never read the bible but got through 17 years of forced Church from my crazy parents. I'm agnostic
-
I stopped reading it at the part where after Sodom and Gommorah were destroyed, whats-his-face and his family are living in the wilderness, and his two daughters get him drunk so that they can have an uninterrupted incestuous f*ck session.

My best friend is a atheist and he has read the bible. When I asked him why he told me he had to at lest give it a chance.
-
I have read every "holy" book. I'm agnostic.
-
The Bible is not completely representative of the theist side of the argument, because the Abrahamic religions do not encompass all theistic beliefs.

I don't see how somebody can formulate an opinion on something they have not studied or atleast attempted to. It's like saying you're a Patriots fan without ever watching the NFL. Educated decisions make the wisest people. I laugh at people who make uninformed decisions, brag about their decision and don't understand why or how they came to that conclusion. That is why you're either a Shepherd or a Sheep.
