Is The Saterienne Rapier worth it?
Let me start off by saying i HATE crucible with a passion. However, if I get to lvl 3 in crucible, I could buy my dream scout rifle, which has firefly AND outlaw on it. Is the gun even worth it, or should I stick with fang?
Edit- Thank you for all the nice comments, and for getting this to the trending page. I have tried to farm crucible to try and get the reputation, but I don't think it will happen. Im not winning any matches, so im only getting 15 a game, and I need 2500 to level up. I think I'll just stick with fang for now. Thanks again guys :D

Mine has Luck in the Chamber, flared magwell, explosive rounds, and firefly. Pretty good roll if you ask me. Dont use it though.

5 RepliesI tend to prefer scout rifles over other types. (I stick to PVE.) I have 4 scout rifles, all maxed. - MIDA Multi-Tool - Another NiTC with Rodeo, Send It, and Mulligan - Badger CCL with Luck in the Chamber, Armor Piercing, and Rangefinder - Saterienne Rapier with Luck in the Chamber, Armor Piercing, and Rangefinder The Saterienne Rapier is easily my least favorite, to the point that I'm on the verge of sharding it. I normally prefer the QuickDraw IS sight, but the version on the Rapier has such thick rings and post that it's hard to see what you're shooting at. So I wound up using the Ranged Lens RLR5, which is very similar to the one on the MIDA. But I find it harder to acquire and kill targets than with any other scout. The MIDA is tied for my favorite, but it clearly loses out to the other two on range and hitting power. The Rapier seems to be no better on Range than the MIDA, but it has the slowest rate of fire and smallest magazine. It's only advantage is that it hits hard, but the Badger hits just as hard, but with better range, magazine size, rate of fire, and sight. For PVP, I would tend to think the Badger CCL is better than the Rapier because there's no specific advantage I can point to that the Rapier has.

Honestly don't waste your time its just an ok scout rifle for now. It was good for starting the dark below, its going to be trash going into house of wolves. Just save marks and re roll one in the house of wolves.

I have an NITC and crusader with luck in the chamber and fire fly and the crusader has armor piercing and explosive rounds. Check my warlock

Dude it's awesome. I swear by it. One of the best primaries in the game. Totally worth the grind to level 3. My advice would be get into iron banner with both bounties and get to 100 marks this week and get the other 50 next week. Get it before HoW drops. Probably will get refreshed then. Imo it's much better than gheleons demise that lord salad face sold a couple of iron banners ago.

truly one of the few reasons i have played crucible. that and the IB gear, which looks way better than other armor sets.

Yes, alternatively you can wait until Iron Banner sells it again, since the IrB one is nearly identical but has more impact, 2 more rounds per mag, but a slower RoF. Then you only have to grind probably rank 5, but then it's just glimmer instead of 150 marks

GOD YES! I don't like Crucible, but grinding for this weapon was definitely worth it once I saw the perks on it. It's basically a diet Fatebringer with excellent range.

I find I use my fang in most situations. The rapier can be nice for missions with a ton of thrall (omnigul)

Short answer is yes. First practice will make crucible less annoying. Second, my Saterienne Rapier (on my Titan currently) with Who's Next, Armor Piercing Rounds and Firefly is a thrall killing beast. Clears mobs faster thing any primary I have used so far. I got lucky and got it as an RNG drop.

Not sure how long you have been playing, I for one am extremely pissed I didn't keep my pre dlc high impact auto rifles. I would buy it because you really don't know what the new weapons are gonna be like.

3 RepliesLast night I got the Rapier from a blue engram! Outlaw, explosive rounds, and firefly! I'm going to miss the excitement of rolling a good legendary when HoW drops and you can just re-roll to these perks, but it's for the best.
