2 RepliesI would but I don't support your cause. I'm not big on PC gaming but I am not entirely clueless. A lot of mods will continue to be offered for free. Many will be put behind a paywall. That is cool, the maker of the mod deserves to be compensated. If you don't want to pay for mods because cheapskate, that is just tough luck. If you don't like the fact that the mod maker only gets 25%, fair enough. However, the modder is working with an IP that does not belong to him. Also, his mods show up on Steam which is essentially free advertising. While I believe Steam's cut is too large for the little part they play in this, it is nice that modders can attempt to make money with "their" work. I figure 45% to modder, 45% to dev, and 10% to Steam is fair, but that is just me.

9 RepliesWhy so greedy? Why won't you pay a few dollars to help support the maker of the mod, the game developer, and steam.
-
Why you trying to stifle a modder from making a few bucks? Have you polled the mod community to find out how they feel about a free only system?
