yes I have an active Xbox account. no I cant get by the character selection screen. that's where I all goes wrong... I don't have access to another console... I have done all your suggestions...and more

1.Delete the dlc if you have it 2.Sign out 3.Sign back in 4.Reinstall Destiny 5.Loadup to characters(if it works) 6. Reinstall DLC 7.You should be fine 8. Make me some kool-aid

P.S. I have an Gold account and 85 mps down and 15 mps up latencies is 14 with no packet losses..
