Hey, atom here, I saw a post about the hive "ash" In theory, I believe this ash is ( btw it is stated the hive live in death? ) biological material that, wizards can use to create thrall. Now you're probably saying but atom what about the larva in the temple? I think that is for acolytes ( as we know thrall are ogres, not acolytes) because they are not cannon fodder for the hive, as cannon fodder should be used alot. Thanks!

 • Oh no I absolutely agree. But I've never noticed the larva, I would say those are the larval stage of each Hive, not specifically acolytes

 • Well, to be fair, the acolytes are most likely knights are much bigger, have similar armor to acolytes and it states the armor is hundreds of years old, so I'm guessing that knights are older, veteran acolytes, the only other hive ( that we know of ) are wizards, as shriekers are non living, and why would we put the leaders of the hive right at the entrance to the temple? So, I'm guessing that they are acolyte larvae or a cocoon maybe? ( for knights )
