What I've come up with is this;
It should be made into an Exotic weapon.
Its exotic perk would be:
In another time;
This weapon deals bonus damage to minions of the darkness and doesn't use an exotic space.
Its name would become;
Strangers Rifle v2.0
Description would be;
The more I use it... The closer I feel to her... I can hear her sometimes... She says she is coming to explain...
The gun will go through small weapon changes. Its stability and range will be boosted slightly as an exotic.

By the time I finished the game I was well over 20 and had legendary and exotic weapons already. When I found out the last gun you get it the game was a blue pulse rifle I was so disappointed. There's no reason for it not to be a legendary.

It's a PVP gun, so it shouldn't need to be upgraded unless you think it would dominate in the IB

Sure, I think it should be able to upgrade to 365, but not as an exotic. It's already basically a legendary weapon, because it has more perk options than a normal rare and is the first rare weapon that requires destination mats to upgrade (it's a tutorial weapon, it eases you into weapon upgrades). It's actually closer to an exotic, because it's the only weapon with "Rewind," which seems like an improved version of "Mulligan." It's range and stability are already amazing, so it doesn't need any buffs, just an Attack Buff.

Yeah, it's a unique gun that Bungie left in the dust. But they're gunna need to buff it's mag size for me to wanna use it. Make it 365 Bungie

1 ReplyI think it should retain its relevancy somehow. When she gives it to you, it seems like a BIG DEAL, especially when your ghost tells you its technology shouldn't exist yet. But on the other hand, by the time you get the gun you're already moving on to legendary weapons anyway so it quickly becomes irrelevant. The only issue I see with upgrading it is this: is there a way for people who have dismantled theirs to get one back? I kept one to sit unused in my vault but I imagine there are people who didn't want to use the slot on a gun they were never going to use again.

I kept one of mine. And my answer to your question is mixed. No it should not be upgraded to 365 because it's only a rare. The most it should go up to as a rare imo is 295. Now it would be nice if it was changed into a legendary gun, but you cant use legendaries at level 16. There should be an upgrade path where you can convert it into a legendary at level 20 with 330 max. Then upgrade it again to 365. No it should not be an exotic gun either. You shouldn't be able to acquire an exotic gun at level 16.

Yes. I love this gun in pve. How can the end game reward be a rare quality gun. It looks great and shoots great. Bump it up to legendary at least.
