Etheric Light: Not available for Solo players? No Story drops, no Strike drops? WHY?
After watching all the news on HOW, and listening to talk of new upgrade paths for weapons, I noticed something.
No mention of ETHERIC LIGHT from PVE play.
I hope this isn't a way to force players into PVP again., and just a conversation oversight.

Keep them playing, keep them playing, make them buy the DLC, keep them playing...
get them into PVP it will prolong the gameplay until the next DLC, keep them playing....
EDIT 3: The usual troll morons posting below seem to suggest this is about not wanting to pay for the DLC. Again, is that all they can come back with? Single celled organisms obviously. I've paid and bought the DLC last year as part of the Ltd Edition.

Edit 5: Just for the record, anyone who needs a 3 man team to complete a weekly, nightfall or story mission is pretty crap IMO.
The only true team part of the game (and a part that I regret not being able to play, are the Raids). Fire teams are for scrubs. LOL
Edit 6: Have you played nightfall? It's completely -blam!-ing random what you get and most of the time you get jackshit.
How long will you have to grind for etheric light unless its a definite reward. Oh... I'd say it will take a year of grinding to get your weapons and armour upgraded. LOL
And all you little shits who say players who don't raid are scrubs...

1 ReplyI have the dlc and I am considering throwing my game disc away. I dislike the hamster wheel. I didn't realize how bad it was until house of wolves dropped. I also finally understand what all the talk was about dlc already being on the disc.

I agree honestly. They should make it a super rare drop from strikes/Dailys. People that don't wanna buy DLC (like me) are pretty screwed. And don't say "your fault, just buy DLC", because I've never played a game that tried so hard to make you buy extra content - it's pathetic. And I'm not giving Bungie anymore than they deserve imo. And it's gonna be awful for us playing Iron Banner with lower lvled weapons and gear. But it's whatever idc really in the long run. I'll get there eventually. Just sad that tons of people got lvl 34 the day it was released.

Play the nightfall. Get friends. Try trials (you only need 6 wins for etheric light, so that would be 4-1 with boons)

Responding to your second edit...NO YOU WONT HAVE PLAYERS WITH SUPER WEAPONS RUNNING AROUND CAUSE IT DOESNT MATTER IN CRUCIBLE AND IF THEY DONT HAVE HOW, THEY'RE NOT PLAYING THE TRIALS. SOOO THE ONLY THING WOULD BE IRON BANNER ONCE A MONTH....OR YOU COULD JUST SPEND 15 bones and get all new content.

Nothing in this game is really "guaranteed". Play the nightfall solo and have a chance at some- No, it's not impossible I've picked up 2 this week from 2 runs so far (0/2 last week). Get one piece and you're at 33 with your exotic and get 2 more and you're at 34. So what if it takes a few weeks? More importantly... Why even the need for you to get to 34 if you don't have the DLC? The content you were playing hasn't changed any. If you need to solo Crota as a 34 then wait it out for the EL to drop or just spend the $20 for the DLC and play some PoE or ToO.

4 RepliesThe Prison is totally possible as a solo player.If you are half as good as you say you are then why don't you solo the Prison of Elders? Levels 28, 32, and 34 are all simple enough. Do level 32 get the armor core and upgrade a piece of exotic gear then you will be 33. Then proceed to level 34 and acquire etheric light. Good day, Sir.
