How can Rush be considered a great band...
I can't get over the vocals. They drive me nuts whenever I hear them. He sounds like a whiney woman. Then there's the overall sound. I don't even consider them rock because they sound like a weirdo mixture of classical and pop

The same reason that people consider some modern day bands to be great. Personal taste. And despite that, Rush has some insane musical talent (unlike most of today's artists)

It took awhile for me to like stuff like Rush, R.E.M, Genesis etc, just grows on you. May not like it now but probably will later

Because they were progressive pioneers (kind of an oxymoron) and were extremely talented musicians. I agree their sound isnt my favorite but its about their composition and unique approach to music

Dude...the reason you don't like rush is because (not TRYING to be rude) you just don't understand the concept of music. They sing stories not say ass abunch of times and talk like someone with MS cause they think it sounds cool. Just go listen to hiphop because its a simple rythm and dont even THINK about bad mouthing another letterhead like rush again without doing a LOT more homework

Geddy lee's voice is definitely a matter of taste, but what blows my mind is his ability to sing in tune whilst playing complicated bass parts as well as sometimes operating bass pedals as well as a synthesiser. And regardless of what you think of their music, their musicianship is undeniable. Those guys can really play.

Whaaaaaa? Dude they're all masters of their instruments. Are you a musician? I think they're easoer to appreciate for people who actually know music. I know this makes me sound like a huge douche, but it's true. The awesome thing about rush though is that they make technical music easy to listen to
