Why I can't reforge old weapons?
I really don't understand why we can't reforge from the gunsmith the actual legendary weapons instead of HoW weapons.
Today I bought 2 Deviant Gravity from Dead Orbit for the new arena and the perks are really awful and I'll hope in the gunsmith but now I've noticed that it is impossible!
WHY??????

The off the shelf variant of Deviant Gravity doesn't have bad perks for PvE... Surplus is a GREAT PvE perk. Hold onto at least one for the 365 upgrade... the other may come in useful as shards.

It'll encourage us to play new content if we know we can only reforge HoW weapons.

More then likely it's because house of wolves weapons will introduce new perks for your guns. The guns we have now were not designed to have those perks. And since they probably couldn't make it so the game wouldn't try to slap the new perks on the old guns they just made reforging only for house of wolves. And before you use the new upgrade we can do on old gear to get you to light level 42/ attack value 365 let me stop you. We've seen before that bungie is able to change those values on old gear without much effort. All this new upgrade is is really just a button that lets us change the value. Which is something easier done then trying to add all different kind of roll combinations for the old guns with new perks. Simply put its less effort. It's easier because it goes with the Initial design, not against it like reforging would be.

1 ReplyEdited by Fearless Intent: 4/23/2015 3:06:37 PMIt's because the old guns don't have the possibility for the new perks so to make them reforgeable they would have to rewrite the code on the old guns that you can't even purchase anymore to include the new perks, or change the coding on the gunsmith to be able to determine which perks can go on which specific guns...all of which would be extremely data intensive and difficult to do without causing more coding issues

2 RepliesWtf? Why didn't you wait and get the new Dead Orbit MG? Why did you buy it now? First of all, the update hasn't come out, so you wouldn't be able to reroll them now anyway, but you obviously watched the stream or read a source to know about the rerolling, so why buy them now anyway????

I believe it's because the new perks aren't aloud on the old weapon and they can't make it so there is no chance to put it on old weapons

1 ReplyStop complaining. He did what we asked. We can now re forge weapons with the two hammer symbols across. There's probably going to be way better weapons anyways.

1 ReplyI basically don't buy any weapons from any vendor since i have three factions running and can switch to vanguard and crucible rep whenever i want.... you get lots of weapon drops by just playing the game... and with better perks mostly ...
