If you snipe from the rocks or the Skiff the game does not proceed. No second and third wave and ghost fails to open the door to the next stage. Bungie acknowledges the problem and are effecting a fix...

I sniped from the rocks, guess I wasn't far enough back.

If you stood by the door with your ghost then did not move after the ghost disappeared, clearing the first wave from that location also had the same result. You had to stay inside the area the 3 hobgoblins spawn on the second wave or the game froze. I stood there and was able to complete my solo NF that way.
