I was wondering if anyone really knows the mechanism of where you spawn during control. I've read many posts complaining about 'spawn-flipping'- when some noob goes and takes the control zone where the other team initially spawned (in the case when it is disadvantageous), 'flipping zones', meaning that their team will then spawn at the more advantageous zone.
But I had a couple of things happen that made me question this accepted theory.
Incident #1: Playing with the clan on Rusted Lands, we had a guy who claimed he was 'master of A'. We could just leave him at A by himself and no one would ever take it. We did this. Then I died at B and spawned at C. I assumed A had been taken. Since no enemy was around, another teammate and I claimed C. Then the guy at A asked if we were taking C, because enemies were starting to spawn nearby and overrun him.
Meaning that we had spawned at C despite our team still holding A. So I then wondered if the other team could 'flip spawns' simply by being in the general area of our original spawn point, not having to actually hold A.
Incident #2: I was playing with my brother-in-law, on side-by-side TVs. We were in Firebase Delphi, got killed at the same time. I could clearly see him spawn at C while I spawned near A. What was up with this? Is spawning simply random, governed only by limited spawn protection (not spawning in an area where an enemy is close by)?
Anyway, just wondering if there are any really experienced PvPers who know how this really works.

It's not based on points held, it's based on players in the area. If your team is stacked on A, the enemy will spawn on C. That sorta thing

1 ReplyFlipping spawns is based on relative safety not who controls what cap. In your example, the spawn algorithm noticed that there were 2 hostiles by C (you and your mate) and one by A. So it chose A as the safer spot to spawn. If no one on your team goes for C, the game will always choose it as the safest spawn keeping their team locked there.

If you have ever played cod, its easy to predict. Think of it this way, if you leave a big open spot on a map, meaning no one on your team is around, regardless if it is your objective, enemies spawn there

2 RepliesDamn, I don't know. I always assumed that spawn flipping was determined by control points, but now that you say it I now remember this stuff happening. Sorry I couldn't be help though

Clear example. On blind watch, if trying to flip from A to C, which should be the goal of you have A, the initial goal shouldn't be to take C, but control the area outside the back door. That's the main spawn point. If you control that, the other team starts spawning at A, and your teammates are clear to take C.

Anyone who has ever played Halo or Cod should understand a spawn system. Of course spawn flipping is a thing.

4 RepliesIt's not determined by control points, it's determined by enemy location. If it were determined by control points that could be easily exploited by a team letting you keep a certain control point and simply sitting on your spawns. The spawn system for Control is no different than for Clash.
