Is running Relic a lost art?
Or the Vault in general? It seems like fewer and fewer people know how to do anything except hide during legions, snipe the oracles/templar, and shoot Atheon. I mean I TRY to help when I can, but it seems like more often than not I'm one of the only ones that knows what the relic IS let alone how to use it. And this is with a group of all 31/32s. Idk what's happening lately. I wipe LESS on Hardmode Crota than in VoG nowadays. Am I unlucky or do others encounter this?
tl;dr
Anyone else have more problems on VoG than Crota these days?

I was playing vog with a 32. He offered to pick up the relic. I said sure. (I normally run relic all the time) he litteralyn didn't know how. A 32 WHO DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO RUN RELIC! I asked him if he even played VoG before. He said no

I use relic all the time! I do hide during legiouns and snipe oracles. I know what you mean. I see less people running it, thankfully my team knows how to run it.

I sometimes think this. No level 32 ever wants to pick it up and when asked why they reply with "I dont know how". How do you not know?

I've been running relic ever since I hit level 30 with my hunter pre expansion, and let me tell you once you learn how to use relic and then include blink with it, it's the best thing ever created

I know exactly what you mean. I honestly think they should have made crota the first raid and vog the second, because its way harder to actually find a team that can even get past templar

Experienced raiders have pre-made teams. Lfg is full of the inecperienced mostly. I haven't the foggiest idea what to do after my 2 tries.

Yup if u intend on doing raids you should capable for all parts after a few, ive no problem teaching ppl or letting people try, patience and time people lets not get pissed because its wipe 5 on templar

Always more problems with VOG because it is just a harder raid than Crota's End overall. It's the better raid too.

I can run relic pretty good, but with my connection I lag more than others. So for the sake of the group I try not to pick it up if I don't have to. I've not even tried sword bearing because of my lag.

Bungie is the problem allowing new people to buy vendor armor that gets you to 31 to do crota then to 32 without running vog. They should start locking raids until you do the previous one on hard or run it a lot on normal.

I know how to run relic, I'm just not very good at it. I always seem to get myself killed when teleported to Venus. I prefer to use my SGA on oracles, anyway. Though, I always run it for Gatekeeper.

We have a group of about 30 people playing together and the last couple of days we've actually taken time to let people practice both relic and sword carrying. Earlier it was basically me in the while clan who could wield anything in both raids. As of now I think we are about 10-15 who can do it.

5 RepliesI got with a group yesterday. All 32s. No one could run relic but me. If I wasn't teleported it was a wipe.

With shield in hand I will fight. I'm with you on that. I love fighting in the vault, but most of the time the moment the oracles start spawning everyone finds the nearest cliff and jumps off. I fought with one other guy on oracles last wave, after convincing a group to try once on the bottom, everyone else died and some started calling for us to just wipe. But we fought through the last wave; and succeeded. It was such thrill to fight through it even though it looked hopeless me and this other lone guardian fought on. Some people wish to take the easy way out and that sometimes leads to some frustrating runs. I do the vault now more for fun, I love the vault, even some of my friends say I've got a home somewhere in there. Doing the oracles or the templar from the top just leads to some boring repetitive rail style shooting, Look at this portion of the screen and wait for a shinning thing to pop into existence. So no you are not the only one to feel like this. Fight on guardian
