The two most disrespectful players i have ever raided with.

So I took part in my standard Saturday night raid. Chose to help a couple of first-timers out with Vault of Glass. They were lvl 28 and 29, and both were kids. So we got a group together, found on the Xbox One message forums, all level 30's. One of which was really friendly, and who prided himself on helping newer players, just like I do. The other two however, were so disrespectful of the situation. The first words they uttered were 'Oh great, couple of squealers and they're not even a high enough level! This'll be a long night.' I explained the situation to them, that I was helping some first time raiders out and if they wanted to leave that would be fine, no harsh words mentioned. So we got through the first couple of stages no problem. And then we got to the oracles. Unfortunately, because of the hobgoblins the two new guys died quite a few times, and every time the two other idiots threw insults at them, calling them words I would not like to utter on here. I was so shocked to hear this. Firstly because the raid teams I am normally paired with are so helpful, friendly and we all have a laugh. Secondly, because the people who were insulting these two kids, sounded like they were exactly the same age as them! What has happened in society that makes kids of a young age so mean? Its insane. After the raid, I spoke to the two kids in a separate party and apologised to them about what had happened. I felt responsible because these two idiots were invited to the raid by myself. And you know what they said? 'Ah that's not a problem, we tend not to listen to the meaner players in games, we mute them and carry on with things.' That put a smile on my face, a big smile. These two kids were so mature about the situation. I told them I would be happy to play with these guys again, and if they ever needed help I would only be an invite away. Lets make this community a friendly one guys, I know there's the trolls who thrive on misery but let's ignore them! EDIT: I have to say, I didn't think my post would have this much of a response. It's really great to know there's other people who like to help newer players out there! Keep up the good work Guardians!

  • Good lookin' out, Guardian! Always good to hear there are helpful people out there, looking out for others. Got invited to raid by someone I'd met doing a Nightfal today, figured, sure why not? Whole room was not only kids but YOUNG ones, a few were even first-timers. I thought, ehhhh, let's see how this goes. They were all great kids, very nice, no ragers or screamers and one was even a good leader (obviously experienced and was even patient) so I just stayed off the mic, only occasionally offering encouragement or explaining something a little differently when the leader's instructions weren't being understood. Took us 4 or 5 tries, but we beat it on normal. It was so cool to hear a couple of them go nuts after getting a completion, one in particular got the Hunger and lost his mind...lol, it was great! Once he calmed down (with the young leader congratulating him and explaining the perks) he actually thanked us (granted, basic courtesy, but rare these days). Absolutely made my day and greatly softened the groin kick of RNG "blessing" me with 3 shards... Lol Earlier helped two younguns get their first nightfall completion too. They died...A LOT...but were very nice and never made any excuses. Great excitement then too, especially when one hit the Glasshouse, his first exotic drop. I could care less about their age. Will you listen? Can you play? Are you polite? Can you laugh at yourself and own up? We can play together. If you're a rager, or screamer, or the "know- it-all" telling EVERYONE how to play, or if you have no sense of humor, or are rude in any way, then I don't care what your age is, I don't have time for you.
