If you use blackhammer in the crucible...
'As your primary sniper'... You're not good with a sniper rifle. Anyone who uses this in the crucible can't be good with a sniper rifle because then this would never ever be your choice. It's perks and stats are completely irrelevant in the crucible so there is no good reason to choose it, yet plenty seem too anyway!
Edit: I'm not saying it doesn't take skill to kill with it, I'm saying if you had any skill in the first place you would never choose it.
A lot of people saying 'almost a 1 shot'... I clearly stated you're not a skilled sniper user and you're kinda proving my point. A skilled sniper user will always be going for a head shot, every sniper is a 1 shot in the head. Also efrideet's spear, ldr and several others have high impacts too.
(Sorry for another edit) - I never said don't use the gun! People keep asking me why do I care what other people use? I don't care! I believe if you chose this sniper you're not a skilled user of snipers, doesn't mean I care if you use it, use what you want! If I get killed by it in angry at myself for losing to a player I believe isn't skilled, I'm never angry at the user for picking it!

1 ReplyGot killed by a BH once, my first thought was "why the -blam!- you use that in crucible" your absolutely right the perks are defiantly not for crucible but to say they are unskilled because they use it holds no ground. I'd say rather takes more skill to use than almost all low recoil snipers that people use. I prefer my Prudence with Firefly and Armor piercing rounds

That does take skill because you can't just spray with it like the ldr or pradethys revenge. It has kick and not as much stability as the snipers I said

For everybody...basically what he is trying to say...more simplified...skilled crucible sniper players wouldn't choose the black hammer because the perks aren't good for pvp...yes skilled snipers aim for the head but you rarely will be in the position and have the opportunity to actually active the headshot perk to reload your clip. Thus skilled crucible sniper players would choose a different sniper with more relevant perks for crucible play

I use it because of the headshot perk, if your good enough to land the headshots black hammer is beastly, id use spear but i dont have it

Someone is gonna use Black Hammer and then Hieracon just to prove you wrong. Just because they use doesn't mean they're not a skilled sniper, maybe they actually LIKE THE GOD DANG GUN because of their style...

Yea I can totally understand that because I do find myself missing one about half the time...unless I'm in a good group that we have like 20+ secs to shoot at him...plus I have also just recently gotten it so I haven't gotten totally used to it yet...I have not had the ldr yet but it is one that I would like to get lol

I'm sure a headshot with the hammer vs the spear results in the same thing. Dead player as a result of a sniper headshot. Duh.

Any sniper with high impact is good. The snipers you are speaking of have low impact making it harder to kill with

Wouldn't it be more skillful considering the perks are are almost no help in the crucible? Just saying if someone is consistently getting kills with essentially a perk less gun then you are the fool.

1 ReplyYou must not realize it's value when combined with weapons of light. One shot body shot with ambush scope and better stability than most high impact snipers makes it viable for anyone with a defender Titan on their team
