Exotic-Free Playlist?
I haven't seen a post like this in the forums, so please don't roast me.
Okay, imagine if there was a Crucible playlist that restricted all Exotic weapons? (And possibly exotic armor?)
I still have a bunch of guns I loved to use in Crucible, but can't use them anymore because of all the Thorns, Last Words, etc.
I'd love to dust off my old Shadow Price and Devil You Know, and a playlist like this would really let them shine.
What do you think?
Edit 1: I realize some ledgendaries can still be used in Crucible, but I'd rather just not have to worry about being killed by an Exotic.
I just want a little variety, that's all.
Edit 2: Not saying Exotics are stupid or should be taken out or anything ridiculous. O=I just want to play something that makes it so everyone has to mix it up. If you recall Halo's "Action Sack" Playlist, you'd know what I mean.

I'm in. I had mentioned this in posts in way back in past, ad nauseam, only to be laughed at. Now that the ammo patch has hit and guys can't run crazy with secondary all through the match, posts like this are getting attention and thought. We might get this option sometime in future. Majority of the Destiny community is about changing rules only after things become difficult for them, fairness be damned..so same guys laughed it off earlier will probably support it now. For whatever reasons, if it gets implemented, will be a fun place. And yea much more balanced because Purple weapons are more accessible than yellow, for all at least.

A couple Pokemon battle simulator communities use the usage statistics system, where pokemon that get used a certain amount get the "overused" status, which distinguishes these pokemon as the best of the best. Because other pokemon who aren't as competitively viable in the overused(OU) tier, these communities create an underused tier for these pokemon to compete with other pokemon that aren't as competitive. A similar system would be a lot of fun in the crucible, because it increases variety to the point where certain weapons that never get used have a chance to shine, and would probably lower the overall TTK and play speed in this playlist. You might be able to shoot off an extra NLB round, or get a couple headshots in with your eidolon ally, and would be both less competitive and more fun, and the thing is players get a direct hand in determining what guns are the best of the best and what guns can be UU, which should be generally fun. The biggest, most glaring problem with a playlist like that though is that the more casual audience might spend their time in UU more, and makes Thorn and TLW etc be used way way more. I think its a cool idea at least

I don't know why people get so butthurt about asking for this option. That is what it is...an "option". A choice. Why would you not want to have more variety in a game you are paying for? All the "git gud" nubs are just gonna troll and say it's because you're bad or can't deal with it, when really there's no defense for that assertion. I'd like to see a mode in which all exotics can be equipped among other variations of game play to at least spice it up. Just because Destiny is Destiny and not other games doesn't mean there can't be variety. Anyone who can say they are satisfied to pay for a game and play the same few game modes repeatedly with much repetition and be happy is a liar.

This is how crucible should have been to begin with. NO EXOTICS. That takes care of all the balance issues.. And then during Iron Banner, allow exotics!

2 RepliesHell yes! I think most people that don't use TLW and thorn as a crutch would end up in this hypothetical playlist. The PvP side of things has caused most exotics to become worthless in PvE and I wish they were not allowed in PvP at all so that they could become the crazily powerful weapons that they were supposed to be. "Exotic Weapons are designed to look, feel, and sound overpowered. At the same time, they are not supposed to break the balance of the game" Here is my list of exotics that do not fit the criteria that they supplied: SGA Truth P&T Dragon's Breath Pocket Infinity Hardlight Vex UR NLB Suros Half of them on the xbox with some of them being left off purely because of PvP
