The folks at bungie have already crunched the numbers. I guaranty that they are logging play time and member participation/frequency. They showed us that they do this with the guns before the last buff/nerf update. They probably have a player loss threshold that they can tolerate if they care about keeping this game afloat. They do already have in hand the moneys spent on the season passes. Every game dies eventually. Time will tell how long destiny can survive. If bungie truly wants a ten year franchise, this iteration won't make it.
