Let me explain it to you in the same polite manner as I did to your wife in the thread in question.
She was not banned for being a girl gamer. Bungie doesn't make any difference between genders. She also wasn't banned for muting me. She was banned for breaking the rules in a post of a Bungie Employee with her original comment (her post being "off-topic", what I explained to her in the thread), and breaking the Code of Conduct.
The Terms of Use of Bungie.net clearly states that any rule of a Bungie Employee in a thread has to be followed, otherwise it's an violation of the Code of Conduct.
I tried to explain things and reply to your wife as polite and neutral as possible. I might have failed there, since english isn't my first language. I admit that.
But your wife somewhen started to attack me, and replied in a very rude manner (me being a "sissy" is an example of that). I reported that, and only that (not every one of her comments), and the Forum Moderators and Bungie Employees saw that. Thus, she was banned.
Unfortunately I cannot provide you any pictures of those replies, since they got edited and removed.
I don't know what went wrong with her muting me. Usually, when you mute a user, you cannot see his/her posts anymore. But your wife could still see them and reply, as could I. Maybe your wife muted the wrong user. Maybe muting doesn't work in a sub-thread. Maybe something went completely wrong with the website. I don't know.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion for you and your wife.
I'm sorry that she got banned, but if you don't follow the rules, this happens.
Best regards, "that one guy".

Do you know how many times on a daily basis this happens! especially in a sub thread! I read posts all the time where people bad mouth other players and attack bungie directly in main threads. Whether if she was banned for being female or not. The problem is that players are always free to speak their opinions. This concept is usually welcomed and asked for by bungie in the threads. I personally do not think this should have resulted in her banishment, and would like to see her return to the game.

Edited by Seraphim Crypto: 4/16/2015 10:02:54 PMIn some threads it is not allowed to "speak the opinions". She broke the rule in the post. I reported it. Unfortunately I am one of the guys keeping the forums cleans, at least in #Help. Also, she should only be banned from bungie.net, not the game.

I get that you want to keep the forum clean, and i respect that. At the same time you can do that without restricting someones freedom of speech. If someone posts something ugly, violent or inappropriate ad you decide it shouldn't be in your forum then why cant we just remove them from the thread itself and leave it at that. And by no means am i attacking you personally. i just don't really understand how this escalated.

That's what I wanted at first. I wanted the posts to be removed from the thread. You do that by reporting them. It should be obvious though, that if over 20 comments get removed and a User get's banned from the entire forum, that the User in question must have been done a serious offense against the CoC. I'm not responsible for her being banned. I just reported some posts.
She would have had been banned anyway, if a Bungie Employee would have seen that. And they usually do.
