The only weapons that will be upgradeable in HoW are from raids, and here's why.
I've seen some posts where some guardians believe that every legendary weapon will be upgradeable, whether or not they are from vendor or raid weapons. I believe this will not be the case.
My thoughts are that there will be a rare item in the new arena mode that allows a player to upgrade a raid weapon. This makes a ton of sense because it would make re-running the raids a more desirable thing.
I believe there are many players who still don't have every raid weapon. If bungie didn't allow the option for the upgrading of old raid weapons, then pretty soon after the release of HoW people would stop running VoG and then eventually CE. By creating an item that upgrades old raid weapons, you now create a whole new dimension to the end game.
This is basically a way to create more end game content while still relying on the old modes. I would love to hear your thoughts on my idea.

1 ReplyTotally agree with what you said. They should not make all guns upgradeable. There would be way too many options and it would make new guns not as exiting. Doing raid only weapons makes perfect sence and gives players a reason to play previous raids more often. It gives players a reason to want to play older content and collect what the game has to offer.
