Why is it that just about every level has a "safe spot" for destiny players to hide behind and snipe any boss from a safe distance causing minimal to no damage to the player. That shit is lame and the devs need to block camping areas from players. Theres a safespot right above the nexus.
You can kill crotas soul in another corner and not have to worry about anything.
You can run through the crota campaign and stay uptop or below and kill crota yourself and people do it all the time.
Its all over youtube, and it cheapens the game. If bungie wants to call hiding behind a corner for two hours sniping a boss that cant attack back "Epic" then they just shouldnt hype up the new HoW boss fights when people are just going to find another "safespot" and use it to kill it with no effort.

If you dont like it, dont do it. Crying about it in the forums only makes you look like an immature child.

13 RepliesEdited by XTempistX: 4/16/2015 10:54:04 PMGood post. I did Nexus yesterday and this scrub went up to some cheese spot and still died. My friend and I didn't revive him. He respawned and tried to hang with us and died 8 times, no lie. Garbage ass players everywhere. No skill, camp and snipe. Just like the Archon Priest at the three enemy waves. If you have to stay up top and snipe, you're a scrub. I solo that shit with shotgun and a auto rifle right in the fray and don't die. The Devil's Lair strike, if you camp by the Fist of Crota area or by the door that your ghost is decrypting, you're a scrub. Like really wtf. You guys are scared of enemies 6 levels under you. The bosses are 6 levels under you. Stun lock any boss with Black Hammer, get out of my strike. I don't need your sorry ass in my game and I most likely carried you anyways. Edit: optional matchmaking in strikes please. I don't need these weak ass players in my games.

go solo it problem solved. also you are not running around melee the boss do you?
-
Pro Tip: if you don't like cover, don't use it. Problem solved.

2 RepliesPost video of yourself playing a Nightfall in the middle of the Summoning Pits chamber with Phogoth on a no-burn night with lightswitch and juggler. I would be totally impressed. ...but I'm still going to seek cover anyway. Play it your way, dude. Don't stress over anyone else.

Edited by RdDragonEmperor: 4/17/2015 5:50:31 PMThing is this game doesn't have defined roles or a play style. Team mechanics are only used in raids and just barely then. For the most part in Destiny you main mission is to stay alive. So ppl play to that end. If we had defined roles Warlock=Healer/Mage, Titan=Warrior/Tank, Hunter=Scout/Dps you would see a change in play style but the roles are really meaningless on this game we're all just different types of Warrior Class.

3 RepliesShouldn't be able to do anything strategic in real life either. Too scrub like. No camouflage or hiding behind rocks. People who do that are ginormous scrubs.
-
Why does it bother you what other people are doing? Just do your own thing!! It won't effect you then!

I'm guessing this supposed to induce rage? Hulk mad rawr :D

14 RepliesYou go and be hardcore and Rambo everything. I'll cont to use my sniper perch. And I won't come down and revive you. Who designated you the guy who says what is the "right" way to play? You're a nobody and I feel bad for feeding a troll like you.

2 RepliesI think they're working on that. I was camping in my old cheat spot on the Sepiks weekly strike when 3 majors and a captain spawned right next to me. Nearly crapped my pants.
-
Idk, man, people tend to take the path of least resistance. Which is why I solo crota on hard.

2 RepliesI can see what you mean. Hiding behind an indestructible block for an hour taking a shot and then hiding again doesn't feel "epic". The boss's have defined areas that they can and cannot go. Once you define these areas it's easy to just stand back and shoot them from safety. It would be interesting if the boss could follow you around and that no single cover could be safe all of the time. I think that this would make the fight feel more intense.

1 ReplyLook, im sorry if i sound stupid. I do. Im sorry. But please hear what i'm saying. Im not saying its bad to use cover. Im not saying that finding a place in nightfall to hide behind and regroup isn't a solid plan but the player should have to earn it. Not be given it. This means that there would maybe be different places on the map that give shelter made from scenerie and level design (an example would be that enemies would be spawned in an area and can over run you (eventually). it would give you a chance to finally use the jetpack to get out of a sticky situation, kill off a group of enemies behind a pillar, get your sheilds up, and then get back out there (which is why the jetpack is there in the first place there). Those of you using omingul nightfall as an example are proving me right. The room you pop in and out of isnt 100% safe from being over run and requires the fireteam to work together to keep the enemies at bay. I do that too, relax. However, safe places where the boss cant get to you at all shouldnt be there. It just doesnt suit destiny's playstyle, and i mean that in the most respectable manner. The story of destiny is a story about being surrounded by forces. Always on the brink of extinction. Of death. Keep in mind that the story of destiny is about humanity being hudled together, working together to survive against hordes of enemies with nowehere to hide, finding intricate and awesome ways to keep fighting. The titans didnt protect the wall hiding in a corner. Eris Morn's fireteam werent hiding in a corner when they went down. Eris morn escaped, slowly, but she escaped. To recruit help. To get you powerful enough to take on crota (yes, your fireteam would most definitely have destroyed eris morn's in the crucible). Everything is about being surrounded and on the brink of extinction. It just doesnt fit well with the atmosphere bungie is trying to create. Again, sorry if i sounded stupid earlier.

I am okay with this play style during normal strikes but in nightfall it is a different ballgame. I generally become overrun way too quickly. Perhaps if everyone was on the ground and working as a team we could fend off enemies but i don't know. Take valus for instance. His majors take a ton of bullets and do not flimch or let their shields down and they kill you in no time flat. I am all about trying to go toe to toe with the enemy but it is a bit unfair in a lot of nightfall situations. Light switch doesn't work both ways. I have tried it straight up. Most of the time it works but there are times it doesn't.

I agree with the idea behind this thread, even if the title sucks.

Edited by Elbium: 4/17/2015 4:04:37 AMDominant strategies are considered as better than other strategies, no matter what other players might do. In game theory, there are two kinds of strategic dominance: -a strictly dominant strategy is that strategy that always provides greater utility to a the player, no matter what the other player’s strategy is; -a weakly dominant strategy is that strategy that provides at least the same utility for all the other player’s strategies, and strictly greater for some strategy. http://www.policonomics.com/lp-game-theory2-dominant-strategy/

I'm sorry, but when they do this do they happen to make you lose glimmer or take mats or consumables? Do they take away your weapons? ?? No, well then STFU and stop worrying about how other people play pve and focus on yourself, there's this thing called minding your own business, it's great, you should try it and maybe you'll get a lot less frustrated and not litter the forums with this garbage. Goodbye, have a beautiful time :P

Bungie cheapend Destiny. Who the hell cares? It's a game bro. People are gonna play it how they want to. There's no right or wrong way to play any game. Stop being an elitist Dick... PS wrong forum :-)

Level up your shit before you call kids scrubs

1 ReplyHave you beaten omnigul on nightfall with light switch and arc burn?
-
Players may be surprised at how badly they suck if the arena is just a open gladiator like battlefield with no hiding spots.

4 RepliesWow, I have done more raids then you have done strikes combined!!!
