So I believe planet destiny's opinions can be trusted and I just checked youtube and they speculatively confirmed the raid will be in comet.
Edit 3: it seems I was a little overzealous and at the end of the video he states it's an assumption quickly after seemingly confirming without doubt early in the video. Though the point of this post still stands. What's your perception right now? But for the detail oriented this means there still is no official confirmation
Bungie claims that the delay is to produce a much better quality raid. However, it's packaging with comet means it is also a marketing decision and we will have one less raid than we expected.
I'm reserving judgment on the Arena for now as well as trials of Osiris, but this raises one disturbing question for me.
How much of this delay is marketing and how much is really bungie working on it? We have no basis other than do we believe bungie, which they have been better about recently, but are still shaking the distrust since launch and have very little transparency still. Top that with the mountain of misinformation they never try to nip in the bud and you get a community that does not trust bungie.
Right now I will not be getting comet till I've seen every inch of it and I'm stuck having already paid for HOW.
Basically I'm asking what is the communities perception.
Is bungie being truthful and working on the raid, but still squeezing all profit they can from us (raid behind pay wall). Or are they making a marketing decision to try to bolster comet sales due to most HOW purchases already having been finalized long ago?
Edit: I don't know how much stock to put into it but I'm also seeing many people draw the conclusion that since the leak called it the arena bungie has known they wouldn't include a raid for some time
Edit2: great replies! This is my first trending topic. But to be fair to bungie I want to include a little more that isn't as accusing. thanks to semi sentient and kellygreen2 for their insight. Bungie seems to have a very distinct lack of leadership and cohesion within its different departments. This makes creating a final product very difficult on time. Also from the reception of the other raids it is very plausible they wanted to make a more accessible end game content option as well as improve the raid with time. Much of destinys development schedule appears to be getting chewed up by their need to go back and fix so many of the games problems. This of course assumes bungie did chop up its content for sale, but it wasn't completed like many like to say and they have just been holding onto it.
Edit4: near the top of trending for multiple days. Thank you everyone for your opinions I hope bungie takes a look so they can see how they are being perceived and hopefully change their approach. It just disappeared from trending. I don't know how the rules work for that to happen, but good run guys!

2 RepliesWhat people seem to be ignoring in these "bungie only wants money raid in comet don't buy anything" is people like me, I have almost ever single thing in the game apart for a LMG and 2 hunter exotics and maybe just maybe they're thinking about casuals and about me in that A. A 3 man replay able Arena sounds like a easier way to complete certain things, it would allow ( from what bungie said) a way so I don't get bored doing the raid over and over B. People don't have to always go outside of the game to find a team (literally do a roc strike and invite your team mates!!!!) casuals will love this and there could be matchmaking for it too! C. I haven't actually seen anyone that brings up a point about the lack of a raid and only have instantly started yelling about "only in it for the money" becuase it's not like they have listened to community at almost every turn, updated things at lest once a month Just letting you know and if you disagree please don't just hate spam me becuase that's not nice, thank you for reading

3 RepliesDon't believe anything planetdestiny, more console, or my name is bytch speculate on

1 ReplyYou really need to change the title of this post.. It is very misleading and causing even more people to get needlessly mad over something that simply isn't true..
-
I think it's just another cheap shitty raid and if released with how it'd be conquered in no time Thus by delaying it they are desperately trying to extend the longevity of the game. I for one have moved on, tired of the bullshyte from these idiots. Perhaps destiny 2 is going to be what one was promised to be, and they're trying to drag things out until then?

6 RepliesFor all the times bungie gets shit on on these forums, I would expect to see at least ONE thread about ACTIVISION plotting some dastardly scheme. Seriously! Do people forget that activision, the company behind CoD, is publishing destiny? Do they think that activision is ok with making less than maximum profit? If they do they would be wise to sell their games an get off the forums, if there's one thing activision cares about its money, and if they aren't making any they will know that something needs to change. Instead they whine and complain on the forums, clogging it up for people who actually WANT to play this game. And what's worse is they target bungie with all the hate, the people actually working to make it better. I can't wait for CoD to come out so that most of these kinds of people leave forever. And then I hope destiny becomes the best game it could possibly be so I may drink from their fountain of tears.

If you will read the how dlc description there is no confirmation of a raid. Its called a multiplayer activity. And bungie is providing a multiplayer activity. Everyone just assumed it would include a raid. Its a smart move by bungie. You would be surprised how many people actually participate in raids. Much less complete one. Im bummed theres no raid but prison of elders sounds fun. So before you fly off the handle and rage quit wait until it comes out. See whats its all about.

Yay, I still love destiny, pvp and pve

6 RepliesI'm not getting comet. I'll be over destiny by then.
-
11 RepliesThey are not its so obvious they are cutting content it's not even funny I for one will be leaving this game and it's poor marketing tactics behind
-
Hahahahahahaha! Not one penny, Bungie. Learned my lesson! I just want that $15 back you deceitful scum!
-
This is all fine and good but it's clear that yes, they decided to remain silent and ride the assumption train along with everyone else to bolster HOW'S sales, probably for Comet. So I think it's the other way around. And no I do not believe they were truthful despite the fact they did not announce a raid for HOW.
-
My take..... why are they putting HoW raid in comet. I think they are sooooo behind on comet raid they need this to take its place.. just speculation.
-
Before the HOW had a its own raid and the comet had a raid.
-
2 RepliesI find myself in the camp decided they're making it about money. They'll probably sell the raid as a stand-alone DLC for $15USD in the Summer (Norther Hemisphere)

Edited by ParasiticFilth: 4/16/2015 12:15:11 PMI'm not buying Comet. I want the House of Wolves raid, not the Comet raid that was intended for the House of Wolves expansion. I'm not paying $60 for regurgitated content. Bungie staggered the Trials of Osiris, which was part of the vanilla game; to act as a selling feature for the House of Wolves. Everyone who bought Destiny vanilla is entitled to the Trials of Osiris, but they won't receive it. I don't care about the plausible deniability claims, or all the information that was scrubbed off the Bungie sites; I know that there was supposed to be a raid-e.g. every video game publication is running articles basically stating, "Why No Raid," and DeeJay issued a basic apology. If there wasn't supposed to be a raid to begin with, then why apologize? So you Bungie fan boys can eat a dick. Horde mode and whatever else is in the House of Wolves package doesn't nullify the absence of a raid, to say otherwise is being delusional; especially if you're a hardcore player.

I'm not paying jack shit for comet till I see there's a live gameplay for the raid and it better be -blam!-ing amazing

Suddenly disappeared from trending :/ oh well great run guys!
-
2 RepliesDoes that mean there will be TWO raids in comet? one free and the other that comes with Comet? or is Bungie forcing us to pay for comet?
-
1 ReplyThey didn't confirm anything they assumed that ment it was coming out with comet

4 RepliesIm just getting a little confused with this news. Is "The Arena" the raid that was pushed back or is it's official title The Prison of Elders the new game mode? I just want my Kell armor for my hunter man...Am i gonna be able to start working toward my kell armor at HoW release or am i still waiting for a new raid? Honestly getting tired of anticipating over priced "expansions" that are actually just a handful of goodies only to be told at release that the last half of it still isnt ready. I cant tell if their plan to keep people playing is working or not. Cause i know as soon as i get the last bit of gear from the CE raid then thats it. Controller down. I'll have no objective to obtain. No reason to play. No reason to come back. If Prison of Elders doesnt contain new unique armor and guns then there is honestly no reason for me to even get HoW. Oh 3 new story missions? That'll only take me 35 minutes to complete. Then just sit arount till Xur sells the 9 new armor pieces over the course of the next 6 months till Comit comes out then for another 3 months when it actually comes out What was I talking about again?

I only trust bungie to lie, cheat, and steal. I play this game with friends, my new clan is great an that is what keeps me- oh, and I did already pay for HOW, so I do plan on seeing what it contains. I must admit though, I am very concerned with it and not very excited. I am even less excited now that they claim to have axed the raid from HOW. Like I said before, I play this game with friends, I like the 6 man fire team, with them mostly, and now I hear bungie will not expand that experience with the new DLC. Disappointed. I honestly believe, bungie does not give a flying you know what about you, me, or entire community. I think this game is one big testing environment and we are merely operating in their "controlled" world. I could really go on and on and on, but I'll stop here. P.S. I honestly, truly, whole-heartedly believe, no, I know, I could help bungie with its long term trajectory, because based on its current course, it won't last too far after HOW.

There is no point in returning for HOW if you don't play crucible and have a deep hatred for horde modes since gears of war and ODST, see y'all in comet
-
8 RepliesIf the HoW raid is in Comet, everyone who got the season pas, or HoW should get Comet %10 off, because that's just shitty shitty bullshit right there.
-
5 RepliesFunny thing is all these people defending bungie for not putting the raid in. In DeeJ's post about HoW he said they were torn about adding or not adding the raid at this time. Meaning they contemplaited adding it. But since we had already paid for it, why add it now? Wait to add it to comet to bolster sales like the op mentioned. And these people saying we werent promised it, its crazy to me that you are argueing against getting more content. If you believe for a second its getting delayed so they can make it bug/glitch free then i got something else to sell you. Its all about the all mighty dollar. And you morons are buying this crapp hook line and sinker.
