Don't die

Just kill things!

Honestly just take your time and explore as much as you can. My advice is to not look up guides, and videos on the game, until you have beaten it. There is just so much hidden content in the game, and it is extremely rewarding when you can find them all yourself. Learning the mechanics of the game comes with experience. So don't worry about dying. Oh and pick the axe. It is so fricking strong for the beginning, actually most of the game, but i personally feel like it is a strong weapon if you want to learn the mechanics of the game

Take the time to learn the enemies moves and attacks. Once you get use to it and learn how to properly react to each one. It'll get a bit easier. Pretty much learn from your mistakes.
-
Don't gimp your build. Explore. Pick a weapon suited for your build (scaling). Hardcap Vitality and Endurance
Skl>Str but that's just an opinion. Imma dexfag.
1 ReplyAlways lock on and roll. Try to go for the visceral attack when you can. When you start to get gud
-
1 ReplyBuy lube, because this game is gonna violate your butthole from start to finish.
-
Enroll in anger management to go along side the game or buy a couple extra controllers. It'll make you so mad at moments but when you finally get past a part or kill a boss you've had trouble with its feels so damn good

1 ReplyThere is a good video in youtube to help newcomers with some basic stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJxi_w6jwRg Hope that helps! I found it for a friend who started the other day, helped him tons! May the Good Blood guide your way!

Learn about weapon scaling, and know how to visceral attack. It will help you a lot

4 RepliesEdited by wigriffin: 4/16/2015 12:29:24 PM1: Find the first boss. You can't level up until you find him, but just have to find him; you don't even have to kill him to level up. 2: Learn how to use visceral attacks with your gun. The game is MUCH easier once you get the hang of this, as 90% of enemies can be stunned and countered. I'd YouTube it. Good luck!

Return to gamestop with game, trade it in for the massive inline expansion of house of wolves

3 RepliesTry and get ALL the umbilical cord pieces for best experience. There are four to find :P

Edited by dballerxx: 4/16/2015 11:11:22 AMKeep in mind that there a lot of secret paths so search everywhere! Lots of useful items in those areas! Also if you really need help, once you get to the first boss(cleric beast) even if you die to him, you will receive the Beckoning Bell(let's people join you)
-
Level up your guy no matter what. If you got enough echoes do it
-
This was my first From Software game. It took me about two days to get the mechanics of the game down and figure out what to do after that though it's pretty simple and alot of fun. Just keep at it and you will take off.
-
Try not to die.
-
Get to the first boss, so you can start to level. Once you level it will make the game so much more enjoyable
-
Dying is a good thing don't get discouraged if you die its needed to learn and progress. (From a fellow beginner who has nearly platted the game).
-
Explore. Take your time. Learn to time your parry.
-
Don't die.

Keep going back to old areas. You'll acquire shortcuts throughout that open paths back to areas previously inaccessible. Controls are major. But that's in good time. Just make sure you're thoroughly exploring/re-exploring.

Explore. Die alot. Master ur parry. Do quests DONT QUIT
