New Monarchy has the Crusader I, a Scout rifle which has the exploding enemies perk when you attain headshots. Scout rifles have longer range, I'm curious as to why Fatebringer steals all the glory. Is it because of the [Crusader's] appearance, being an NM faction weapon?
>_>
Edit: I've simply asked for an answer. I haven't done anything to provoke anyone, if you're mentally able, please halt hostile comments. I'd hate to use this forum as evidence toward the awful unfriendliness of the Bungie community :3

The bottom line is that you want the quickest one on one and group kills for minions with a primary weapon. Fatebringer Brings the impact and firefly with arc damage. It cant be beat in a nightfall arc scenario and anyone who says different either does not have one or really hates hand cannons. I have ran arc burns with the Fang and Necrocasm a few times and a 300 Fatebringer puts them to shame.

You don't just buy or get a scout rifle with firefly. It's all RNG. The reason everybody wants Fatebringer is because they know they will get the perks, and it's just an awesome Hand Cannon to have.
-
Time to kill... That's your answer. Handcannons do it faster than any other gun or rifle for tier 1 & 2 mobs.
-
Better gun
-
High impact headshot result in more kills. Plus it's the only hand cannon with firefly. Trust me. It's one of if not the best guns in the game.
-
Because most shots are headshots with hand cannons
-
People jumped on the hype train that is the Fatebringer. This is something people just do. It's herd behavior at its finest.

I think the real key is impact. The impact of a handcannon is more (not often by a lot, but sometimes) than a scout. Impact is where the real dealt damage lies. Fatebringer with Firefly and Outlaw (in PVE) is pretty much a one shot (precision) kill. So, one shot, I take out like 10 thrall, and get an instant reload. On a scout, it will likely take more shots (not many probably, and depending on the level of the enemy, etc). That's why though. Plus, consider that it's very unique... Badger, Another NITC, Saterienne, they all can get rolls with those perks. There is only one hand cannon with those perks (you can't even roll Timur's Lash with all of these). Now throw in that it does Arc damage (was a lot of fun this Nightfall), vs Crusader's Kinetic damage.

3 RepliesFirefly+Outlaw=OP Firefly+Explosive Rounds=OP Hand Cannons=OP Hand Cannon+Firefly+Explosive Rounds+Outlaw=Fatebringer Fatebringer=OP Common Core math

1 ReplyWho started the the fatebringer hype? I think it was sc_slayerage since that was his weapon when he 2 manned vog (exception for gorgons maze)
-
2 RepliesThe fatebringer is possibly the best weapon in the game, at least perkwise. The outlaw and firefly combo just doesn't exist on any other hand cannon, and because hand cannons pack such a great punch (one hitting almost every tier 1 enemy) it's just an overall fantastic weapon. And hey, it does arc damage :)
-
Elemental damage, and hand cannons are op
-
1 ReplyThe explosion dmg is directly correlated with the base impact of the weapon. Fatebringer is a high impact hand cannon with arc damage. Scout rifles are low impact but high range.

Now having the firefly perk is great... well it's just fantastic. Keep that weapon. And if there is hate messages going around, then just stop you idiots it's just a game and believe it or not words can hurt people. So if you won't say it to someone's face don't say it at all. I hopr I answered your question. If not please message me and I will see if I can help.

Hand cannons have a higher impact than scout rifles. Besides handcannons are badass
-
3 RepliesI think it is FateBringer because it was a major achievement to get one before TDB kicked everyone's VOG efforts in the nuts. Whilst I'd be delighted to have a 365 FB, the same treatment to the other VOG weaponry is equally as exciting.
-
Outlaw+firefly ( faster reload after precision kills + enemies explode if you kill them with precision damage ) And absolutely MASSIVE impact. Also its a handcannon so that is made for close to mid range. People like hand cannons.
-
Higher impact, easier to aim and shoot, faster reload
-
2 RepliesIt's a combination of many things. First and foremost it does Arc damage and all primary weapons from Vendors only have Kinetic damage. Then there's the base stats of the weapon without perks: high impact, 12 round magazine (cylinder) and TONS of aim assist. Then throw in a perk that increases reload speed (which is the biggest weakness of Handcannons) and Firefly and you've got one hell of a weapon. I only wish it had Send It (increased range & accuracy) instead of Field Scout. That one extra round is pretty useless.
-
Do you have Fatebringer?
-
I may not have fatebringer, but I just got Crypt Dweller SR1 from Nightfall (scout riffle) that has firefly and explosive rounds. Is that the fatebringer of scout riffles? No? Maybe? Not even close?
-
Arc damage , rof , reload speed When you use it you know why :)
-
1 ReplyArc damage, higher impact, and easier to aim at both close and medium ranges.
-
It's a primary with an elemental effect, plus it looks nice. Also its a hand cannon. Who doesnt love hand cannons?

Arc damage

In this weeks nightfall it does nearly 5000 crit damage to normal enemies. This is one if the answers
