So long Delphi and Blind Watch (another Bungie fail)

Once again it's sad to see Bungie caving to a bunch of crybabies. Some of the absolute best, down to the wire matches I've played are on those 2 maps. In my opinion, Delphi is the most fun map in the game. I can understand the Blind Watch complaints to an extent, but teams that battle over C instead of B have amazing fights there. Really was disappointed reading that you're dropping their chance of coming up. [b]At some point players have to have some responsibility to learn strategies, learn to counter weapons, learn maps and learn to not suck. [/b] [spoiler]Beyond that, Shores already pops half the time, is it going to be 2 out of every 3 now?[/spoiler]

  • Your so right about learning the maps, if people will take time to do that they won't complain about weapons so much...I've been killed by every weapon out there but the more I get to know the maps the better I'm getting.

      • All they had to do was change the spawn points and the locations of B and A on blind watch. I love both of these maps when I spawn on the good side.

      • I have not heard anything about this, but I have to say that I am of the opposite opinion. If Firebase Delphi and Blind Watch are going to come up less, than that is music to my ears. Both maps are completely unbalanced, and while I see your point about players being idiots and refusing to consider WHY they always lose by 13,000 points whenever these maps come up, that doesn't change the fact that the team which spawns on the better side of the map is going to stomp the other team into the dirt unless they completely drop the ball. I play a lot of control myself. And in that game type, when on those maps, I will camp the one objective [u]HARD[/u]. [spoiler]As in Defender titan with a shotgun and heavy machine gun, bubble at the ready, just staring at the doorway that an enemy could come from, [u]HARD[/u][/spoiler] I do this because I know that the map is so lopsided that if the enemy team is able to take it from us and switch the spawn, I know that we will almost certainly lose the match. And you know what? We win. We win EVERY time that I do this. In every other match, I will run around, hunt the enemy, pursue B, and have a good time. But on those maps, the only objective that matters is the one at the winning spawn zone. And that's not the way it should be. Control should be about controlling two objectives, not spawning on the winning side of the map. [spoiler]Now, I know that it is [i]Possible[/i] for a team achieve victory without spawning on the winning side (I even saw it happen [u]once[/u]) But any team that does so would have crushed the enemy to dust anyway. The heavily lopsided nature of the maps gives an overwhelming advantage to one side.[/spoiler]

          I have to disagree. If Firebase Delphi and Blind Watch are going to be played on less, than that is music to my ears. Both maps are so heavily lopsided that the match is not a contest to see who can control objectives, but who can control spawn zones. The maps themselves give such an overwhelming advantage to one side, that it can't be ignored. Its not a fair match. Its a spawn kill situation. I am glad that you have had some good games on these maps, with close scores and exciting gameplay. But I have never seen such a match, rather it is always a CRUSHING victory (or defeat), and always in favor of that one, winning side of the map. Now I know this, and when these maps come up, I curse under my breath and make it my ONLY priority to capture and hold the winning spawn zone. And then I will camp that zone [u]HARD[/u] for the entire match. As in Defender titan, helm of Saint-14, bubble at the ready with armor of light, Felwinter's Lie, and a Corrective Measure heavy machine with 150 rounds, [u]HARD[/u]. Every match I sit right there by the winning spawn zone and mercilessly brutalize any enemy that approaches me. Not because I am a camping jerk, or because I couldn't get kills elsewhere. But because I know that if the enemy takes that one objective, we will probably lose the match. That is not the way it should be played, one side shouldn't be one foot in the grave in the first second of the game. This is the first that I have heard about Blind Watch and Firebase Delphi coming into play rotation less, but if it is true, then I think that is just awesome.

        • No you don't understand the strategy! Run into B, make sure you never have team mates with you, try to kill 3 or 4 guys all by yourself! DIE. Respawn! Run to B, make sure no teammates with you, try to kill 3 or 4 guys all by yourself! DIE. That's the strategy!

          • Yeah really, all maps should get equal rotation and that dlc playlist with 3 maps is a joke. Just give the dlc maps for free so we can have a real playlist I don't care that I payed for dlc and others didn't: this would be good for the playlist
