2 RepliesI like the idea of upgrading my fatebringer and VoC... With no raid in HoW and now able to upgrade legendaries, do we get a new difficulty for VoG and CE?
-
I hope we are able to upgrade any and everything from here on out. Should it cost us? Yeah. But we need the option.
-
Rares will now be stronger than some legendaries...

1 ReplyEdited by InfernalDemise: 4/14/2015 11:31:35 PMThe upgrading legendaries will probably only be raid guns. They might elevate their status to exotic so that the new arena and Osiris guns aren't invalidated from the start. Just a thought.

I somehow lost a VoC today. it would have been a lovely 365. #painthewallswithmyblood

This is a great idea, and it will create a little diversity in weapons being used.

2 RepliesEdited by jay p: 4/14/2015 2:47:26 PMHere's what's going to happen. People are going to upgrade fatebringer, vision of confluence and word of Crota. People will be happy. Then they will get the new raid-type weapons. Then everyone will bitch and moan about how they aren't better than fatebringer. The rotation is solar handcannon and void scout, so maybe those will replace VoC or WoC. Maybe. But there is going to be so much complaining about the new arena weapons sucking. And it's going to be because we are upgrading the old ones.

3 RepliesWhile a lot of people love the older raid weapons, it gives the game designers basically a pass to not do their jobs by stifling creativity of making new weapons to use. (Yes they will make new items, but if old items have better uses than new ones Bungie failed at the design) Why make anything new when we can just allow the players to upgrade the stuff they got 6 months ago? Do the players really want that in the game? I know may people would rather see new items to replace all the previous stuff, not to mention having the players be allowed to equip more exotics to build class diversity

My favorite part of HoW so far. I'm real attached to my raid weapons. And this gives all players new and old an incentive to run the older raids because the weapons are worth going after again, especially VoG.

The only things that increasing weapon power do is make the old weapons irrelevant and make people have to grind more to catch old weapons up with the new. Xur should not be updating armor and guns! I would much rather have new weapons with the same power and spend time playing new clever aspects of the game and looking for these new exotics than grinding. There really isn't anything magical about 300 vs 365. They could remain 300 and everything would be just fine because new guns would just provide new cool abilities. It is a mistake to make the back bone of this game power creep, even if you can always keep grinding to catch up. This is lazy and makes people think that all their previous efforts are diminished. And what happens when you get away from the game for some time, only coming to realize that in the future that weapons are now at 450?

1 ReplyIt's a good call. I never believed it would happen... But it adds way more variety to gameplay if you can pick between raid weapons from both raids and vendor / exotic gear as well
-
8 RepliesI don't like it, the game should be about progression so you don't keep the same weapons the whole time
-
question is how it will be upgraded. will it take me another 40+tries (1st fate after my vex seriously it did) to get the upgraded version OR the chain of upgrades will have more upgrades. idk

365 days a year...

14 RepliesHorrible, absolutely horrible. This game is becoming stale enough, now people are going to use their beloved fatebringer so much their gonna ask for more viable options. Even though I absolutely hate the fatebringer lets be honest, it's the greatest primary in the game.
