Hello Guardians!
Today I'd like to talk about something I think would be an amazing addition to the game. This idea could either be amazing or something that has no place in the game.
I would like to talk about the idea of Ahamkara Pets. Just think about it, you need to complete 6 control missions but your sparrow isn't fast enough for you (LOL). You click on your D-Pad (replacing the 'wave' motion with an Ahamkara Call that calls in your Ahamkara you tamed on a patrol mission and you can fly around on it as you please.
Now let's get into the jist of all this. It would start with how it works and how to actually obtain your own personal Ahamkara. In my opinion, the only fair way to get the pet is by obtaining it as an egg. The egg comes in different colors:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Green - Uncommon [Weakest Type]
Blue - Rare [Medium Strength Typed]
Purple - Legendary [Second Strongest Type]
Yellow - Exotic [Strongest Type + Rarest]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The eggs would drop as any piece of armor or weapon would drop, for example, you can obtain it by completing a strike, or a random drop in crucible etc.

The Ahamkara themselves, would be almost two to three times the size of your guardian, and would be customizable with shaders and different armors.
The Ahamkara would also have a hatching time after obtaining its egg. The hatching time could be sped up with Strange Coins. 1 Coin = -5 Minutes | 2 Coins = -10 Minutes | Etc. The rarer the egg, the longer the hatch time. Also, the reason I though about different egg rarities is because I was comparing it to sparrows, and their durability. That said, the Ahamkara could take a certain amount of damage before being sent back to your egg, then being able to be summoned again after a brief cooldown.
Lastly, this could bring up an entirely new Crucible Playlist. 'Ahamkara Battles'. It would be on custom maps, built for flying/ground warfare. You could use altered supers to shoot out of your pet or other things like that. I would love to see something like this.
I personally feel this would be a great idea. Express your opinion below and leave a comment if I missed any BIG PARTS!
Thanks for stopping by!

1 ReplyYou know , I've just been skipping past this post for a while now..... but I'm glad I finally read it. I really like this idea.
-
2 RepliesLet me reverse your idea. Ahmkaras are extinct, but if they are introduced in a furute DLC (as an update for all players, like blades of crota) then they would be massive enemied that show rarely in random ecounters. Saym a fallen skiff is about to drop a Devil Walker, but the Ahmkara destroys the skiff and walker and becomes a boss. Or? When House of wolves comes out, the Arena would have an Ahmkara every 5 levels, each one getting stronger. They drop rares early on, then legendaries, and sometimes tier 3 anf tier 2 exotics.

Why aren't we funding this? Lol
-
Ahamkara, I choose YOU!
-
Soo this egg...is it like a poke ball???? I like my dragon in skyrim but in destiny I have a -blam!-ing spaceship I can't even fly and last I checked the spaceship has guns on it...keep your Pokemon dreams I'll dream about blowing stuff up with my space ship.
-
10 RepliesTheir also extremely intelligent and would never descend to the slavery you would have for them. And there is already talk of ship battles, so it'll be easier to have those fight. Oh, and the akhamara are all dead

Edited by Talidin1337: 4/14/2015 10:41:16 PMAlso, I think to acquire your Ahamkar, it shouldn't be a simple loot drop, but rather a special, hidden story mission only found through Patrol. A different Ahamkar can be found on different planets, but they are locked away in secret caves, tunnels, and cracks in the walls that require exploring before being discovered. When these hidden passages are found, you step foot in a Patroler's dream, and go on an un-named quest to find the Ahamkar at the end, and earn his/her respect. Each Ahamkar is different, and so are the missions connected to them. The quest can only be obtained and completed within the area you stepped into to find that Ahamkar.

That would be awesome. Too bad it won't happen.
-
Awesome idea but I would settle for a cat that could run around with me and sniff out loot chests and maybe collect item like ammo .
-
This sounds really good actually!
-
BUNGIE-to much effort does not compute!!!
-
Creative, I like your idea!
-
1 ReplyYou know banishing Crota's soul? That rib cage is from an akhamara
-
-
-
That is amazing! Dunno if it can fit the atmosphere yet but I like it
-
1 Replytf is an amkara
-
-
I love this idea but it might not be feasible for bungie. But if possible yes we should get some sort of pet partner!
-
1 ReplyI freaking love this idea!
-
Sounds like that would take work and time and bungievision doesn't do that. Great idea though is support it if they were soemthing not any average joe could get. Weeks of grinding, super rare to even begin. That would be great.
-
This would require so much on Bungie's part... It's not feasible, and I don't think the lore provides any proof that the Ahamkara are tame able.
-
Yes flying mounts. I like it. They should add them as land mounts as well..
-
I feel like they would be to big, you could dress your ghost up as an ahamkara and pretend he is one
-
Dragons are cool so yessssssssss
-
What is this madness
