Here's the Deal...

Sorry this is a bit long but bare with me... Okay, so here's the deal. My roommate and I were talking about the drawbacks of Destiny (which are few but relatively major) and we landed on one in particular, that could potentially have the largest impact on the future of the game. The story. Now we all know (and have each rage-flipped a table or two because of) that one major thing Destiny has been lacking since release. A truly solid story. The game has such an overwhelming potential for lore and substance that it is a bit maddening that there is so little to give you insight into the who's, what's, and why's with the exception of a few THOUSAND "grimoire" cards that I think we could ALL do without having to read. I think everyone of us experienced that [not-so] wonderful confusion after launch of, "what is the traveler, what happened to the world, how did aliens come about, and who the HECK is Dr. Shin??" All without answers. Sure, over time we have either been able to surmise the gist of what they are trying to get across through the shards (ha get it?) of the broken story, or have simply quit trying altogether amidst the sound of that constant ringing in our ears, ooh I found a chest with 2 more relic iron, that says to keep grinding. I am sure Bungie is working on some way to remedy this issue, as they promised, but I am not so sure. So I had an idea. If Bungie plans to have this franchise last 10 years, as they hoped, then obviously there needs to be more of a story. I hate to keep comparing it to Halo but that is what Halo did exceedingly well. It provided a riveting question-answering story atop a massively enthralling multiplayer. So it may (or may not, who knows) be too late for a story to be added in to Destiny 1 (considering their plans for Destiny 2 release rumored to not be that far off), but what if they made a movie that served as a prequel of sorts? I thought about how cool this could be after my roommate and I remarked at how the game (scenery, animations, and graphics) is so stunning it should be a movie. We have seen how well movies can compliment a game's story and lore. Halo did it, Assassin's Creed did it, and I am sure plenty of others did as well. That, for me, would (at least temporarily) satisfy my "need" and desire for answers and closure going into the future. I could not wholeheartedly justify spending another $60 or more on yet another game with endless grinding and never-ending (buggy) boss battles without SOMETHING to show for it. That all being said, I do LOVE the game and it is one of the best I have seen a quite a long time. I also love Bungie's willingness to change and listen to their fans. I thank each and every one of the devs for their thousands of hours put into bringing us something so great! They really are rock stars. And hey, all of this may or may not have already been thought of and they may have things in the works, but, just some ideas from your friendly neighborhood gamer. Any thoughts?
