Seriously! Are there any more domestic animals? Can you still grow crops after the Collapse? Or does the Traveler make us not hungry?
Edit: I'm not saying what guardians eat, I'm saying what NORMAL people eat

Expecting "RPG-level" depth from this world of Bungie's? That, during the game's creation, someone might have put enough thought into this story/world to address even seemingly 'mundane' facts such as what you're wondering about OP? And then...oh idk...put THAT sort of useful info in the Grimoire (which should've been ingame to read/research yes I am going to beat that dead horse one more time)? I'm afraid we're in the wrong place :(

I personally think that they make food from glimmer. As you probably know, glimmer is basically programmable matter. This means that they could transform it into anything, including food.

As we know, guardians eat BRAAAAAIIIIIIINZZZZ!!!!! as they're by definition, zombies. Normal humans probly eat space magic MREs or some crap. Who knows, they could be hiding a Ruby Tuesday behind that door next to the Speaker where Xur is at sometimes. He probly gets cheese fries while he waits to sell shit.

1 ReplyI tend to eat what I kill. Cabal are good as they have more meat on them. Some say they taste like chicken which is a good description and they are best cooked, but remember to take the bullets out first. I normally give thralls a miss as they are always rummaging on the ground and I'm never sure what they are rummaging through to be honest. Probably wizard shite. Dregs are a bit skinny too, so not much meat on the bone and I've heard they taste bitter. Knights are ok but I find them a bit tough to chew unless you have time to cook them slowly. I have heard they have a crunchy outer shell with a soft crab like meat inside. My personal favourite are the ogres. Be sure to remove the head first as many don't actually know that head is venomous. Once this is removed he can easily feed a family of guardians for a week. He also has soft bum cheeks and they taste lovely fried.

They eat programmable matter. You can program it into food, not just ammo. Although, when you accidentally reprogram it to ammo [i]after[/i] you've eaten it... well... let's just say one shattered toilet and some very upset downstairs neighbors made sure I'd never do that again.
