Maybe. But I don't think the game is at all dead. It still seems to be holding its own just fine. However, for me it's the horrible RNG that's taking away from the game. I'm seven months in, and still don't have the one weapon I've wanted since launch. That gets frustrating. When you start going into game modes thinking, "Well here goes yet another futile attempt," it starts to grade on you. Certainly more to do would be good, but the RNG is flat-out maddening. I love the gameplay, and actually don't mind playing through the same things too much. But it's more and more difficult to get into it when that one weapon or piece of armor is always out of reach. Watching the worst player on the team get the only exotic is also ... Well ... Demoralizing. I was hoping for Iron Banner next week. I know that's not PvE, but I like the fact that you can actually work toward a specific high-tier weapon or armor without relying on RNG. You know you're going to get what you want if you put the effort in. More of that in PvP AND PvE would keep me playing for quite a while longer. That's what is lacking in the game for me. It doesn't matter what activity you do, the rewards are always the same ... Some random POS, unless you beat one-in-a-million odds. So since Iron Banner is not out next week, by the looks of it, I will be moving on to MK-X. I have no idea when or if I'll be back.
