Shotguns are overpowered
Please Bungie you have to do something with these Shotguns, they are way to strong ! I don't know if you don't see, but 90% in crucible play with shotguns. How can this be ? Because they are so strong! Especially Felwinters Lie, you can forge it until it is so strong also for long range. Please do something you did so many Updates wich should weaken the Shotguns, but you also bring new Shotguns wich are more powerful than the old ones, so where is the logic ? Please Bungie, they really destroy Crucible...

Shotguns are fine... the maps are the issue. if you played on more open maps you would see how situational shotguns are and would be complaining about sniper rifles. If all the maps were more open then you would be calling for a buff to shotguns cause they would be useless

Maybe a little nerf to the fire rate, stability or range, but they need some more crucible maps without ever considering CQC, but they need some maps that have very little close quarter engagements , and less cover

A shotgun does what it's suppose to do if you are close enough or at point blank range you should not survive that shot let alone 2 shots now if they kill you from a distance that I have a problem with but I don't let people get that close

90% of people use them because most people try to get as close as possible, well if you get that close to me Ya I'm gonna take your head off with felwinter. Stop rushing so close and shotguns won't be a problem kid

The problem is map balance not the gun itself. When almost every map places emphasis on CQB, naturally the best weapon will be the most effective CQB option. If you play combined assault where the bigger maps come into rotation you will notice hardly anyone using a shotgun.

This will address the use of special weapons as a primary. Until then, go to the vanguard vendor, purchase the "secret handshake" upgrade it until you get shot package and use a shotgun yourself if they are so overpowered. Your hunter has a 3.5 K/D. Obviously you are doing fine, why are you complaining?

Shotguns are fine. The amount of special ammo as well as the maps make them as strong as they are. The first issue will hopefully be eliminated with the next update. The second issue is not fixable.

Someone of your caliber should be able to come up with a counter action against shotguns, as I have. Your stats reflect mastery of crucible tactics so why are shotguns such a problem for you when thousands of other players have adapted? Son, I am disappoint.

If it wasn't for the thorn bounty, I'd never play crucible. It's terrible. Shotguns are absolutely overused due to the closely confined maps. Why even have sniper rifles?

11 RepliesYou haven't even given a good reason as to why shotguns are "overpowered." There is a pve side to this game and Bungie shouldn't have to constantly alter pvp to suit the likes of people who just can't seem to handle being killed by any half decent weapon.

2 Replies90% use shotguns because they are easy to use. They are powerful at close range, but you can easily kill someone who uses a shotgun with a hand cannon. Or another shotgun.
