What is the best way to get purple gear?
I have all rare gear but I do a lot of raids, higher level strikes, loads of vanguard playlists, but never seem to get them from just picking them up! I know you can buy them but my boyfriend just gets them from picking them up and hasn't had to buy any?

Once you level up a bit more, you can run the highest level strikes for a chance at better drops. Edit: also, keep leveling your Vanguard rank for purple engrams when you pop new levels.

At the point that you're at, I would probably rum Vault of Glass on easy and see if you get some raid gear, other than that run roc strikes. Your boyfriend is probably getting more from them because he has completed more (from a grimoire bonus). As soon as you hit 27, find a group that will run you through crota normal.

1 ReplyFirst do your weekly so you get coins to buy an exotic piece from xur that will help. Do daily I get drops from that . Level up Eros you will get gauntlets

not saying you havent been "in" raids, but your Grimoire says you have no raids completed. if you complete these raid, you WILL get gear. that is certain. ROC strikes drop rare and legendary engrams which can become legendary gear, plus you will earn marks to then buy the gear you need.

ROC strikes and grind for vanguard marks so you can buy some. If you do lots of raids you should have gotten at least some of the raid gear to drop I would think.

If none will drop for you, then you should probably just buy it all. Outside of raids, rare is the highest tier that will drop for me when it comes to armor.

My best advice is to do roc strikes and hope for a purple to show up. However the easiest and fastest way to level up to atleast 30 is to but vendor gear. You can reach 31 and a half. To buy gear you have to rank up your faction(s) (Vanguard, Crucible, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy or FWC) When you reach level 2, you can buy Gauntlets and legs. When you reach 3 you get a condemnation. You can buy either a Helmet or chest piece. After getting to at least 31 i would recommend to start raiding to get raid gear to get to 32. Hope this post helps!

4 RepliesI had similar problems !! Ugh and my bf got everything purple. I recommend crota normal you almost always get something or try getting something exotic from xur and start ranking that up. Hope I've helped xoxo
