Most people side with "no," given that the people they love would all die. That wouldn't stop me, though. I would find solace in that there would be someone who would always remember who those people were, that I'd be responsible for caring on their legacy.
That said, immortality would be interesting. I'd be interested in knowing if we would be truly immortal or if we just wouldn't die of old age. Man From Earth discussed this. It was interesting in that the main simply didn't age. He was still human and had lived for tens of thousands of years. Would be interesting to see how a human brain would cope with storing [i] that[/i] much information.
