I refuse to watch any horror movie that relies solely on jumpscare tactics

I mean literally anybody could make a half-assed movie and make it "scary" with jumpscares. Suspense and disturbing scenes seem to be dead these days in horror films, the majority are chick flicks nowadays. The last good horror film I saw was the Conjuring and that had every element of horror. Step up your game movie makers, don't try to make a cheap buck off of jumpscares, it won't pay off.

  • That's why most 'horror' video games aren't really horror either. Dead Space is a great example. The whole game is just monsters jumping out at you. PT is the first game I've played in a long time that was genuinely scary as it didn't rely on jump scares to frighten you.
