Best Sword Bearer Excuses
So i was playing the CE HM last night on my 31 Titan. We had this sword bearer from LFG who came in all cocky and made it sound like he was just going to carry us through. We wiped 6 times before beating it and 5 of then we're his fault. The excuses this guy had were priceless.
"Crota wouldn't let me off the platform. There was like an invisible barrier man. I couldn't get out"
"Whoa! Crota got up super quick! That was a bug!" (No it wasn't, we all saw him get greedy, we called him out on it but he insisted he didn't)
[i]At ogres, i watch him strafe in the doorway to kill second ogre. See him shoot rocket at the wall because of bad timing.[/i] "Dude! Who ran in front of me! I was shooting my rockets and someone ran in front of me! "
[b]And my personal favorite[/b] "Guys, I'm sorry. I was swinging on Crota and when i tried to get away, my controller got stuck. Like the movement stick just got stuck"
[i]Now I'm not saying these glitches don't actually occur, because they do, but this guy was a total jackass. [/i]What other awesome Sword Bearer Excuses have you heard?
Edit: to all those saying, " why don't you just run the sword then if it is so easy?" I do run sword, all the time on my hunters. I help people out on the forums quite a bit. I'm not saying I'm the best sword bearer but I'm pretty decent and if I mess up a run, I own up to it instead of making an excuse.

I usually run sword and I just state: 1. How come I saw 5 rockets and he didn't go down? 2. Damn, he got up fast as -blam!-, my bad guys. (They agree crota is a cheater because they know what's up with the glitches) 3.Laugh because I did something retarted if I'm in a good mood.

I watched a dude blink strike Crota, and go drifting through the air. Not flying at high speed. Like warlock glide-esque. Right over the back of the platform. We were all too stunned to laugh immediately.

2 RepliesMan. I've had some issues lately with his attack timing after his shields recover from being down. Usually you can swing at that instant and still get away clean.

When I sword on my warlock one excuse is legitimate titans suck at distracting boomers I can get 4 hits easy everytime he kneels but boomers sometimes don't get distracted also lag can be bad and sooooooooooo many people main hunters and are so scared to do it it's annoying especially when they get mad at me for using a warlock

1 ReplyI can understand the first reason. It actually happened to me the other day. I got my 3rd hit on Crota and then went to jump off the ledge and I seemed to get stuck inbetween his legs and couldnt jump off the ledge. He then proceeded to smash me into oblivion. That being said if you cant run sword yourself dont bitch about others.

2 Repliesi get people mess up but hey being a sword bearer is a rush but its also one of hardest things to do well. Especially on hard and if was just 5 attempts before he got it id say still did well perhaps not being arrogant would have increased everyone's else appreciation a little more

I rarely get into a CE Raid where I'm not the Swordbearer and like everyone else I do screw up once in a while. Some of my excuses I've used. "Sorry guys attempted to blink strike between his legs" - Hunter "Sorry guys batwinged (word I use to describe sword swiping through the air) into the light post" - Warlock "Sorry guys had catapult on (use it for PVP) instead of Increased Control while trying to leave the platform" - Titan All of which end up with being sword slammed by the big green glowing bastard.

"WHAT THE EFF IS WRONG WITH YOU YOU TRASH SWORDBEARER" You guys fired rockets too early before I said to.....

1 ReplyI don't screw up too frequently as sword bearer but the best one so far was dropping sword after first set of hits, melee Crota, pick up sword and get chopped up because I wasnt invisible. Wipe. Next run, same thing: after first set, drop sword, melee, pick up sword, get chopped immediately cause not invis. I got super pissed at the game thinking it was doing some glitchy shit like usual. Turns out I was using blade dancer in pvp the night before and was not set up with escape artist. :) [spoiler]whoops[/spoiler]

I always say when I did something wrong, "sorry guys my fault" en sometimes crota glitches but everybody can see that , so what's the point?

Nah there is a glitch where Crota stands up and kills the SB really fast they addressed it in a update but he was greedy so no excuses

When you blink strike him and your blink strike send you flying backwords and kills you... 3 damn times that has ahppened to me and once to a friend. Its funny for a bit then its like dammit -_-

I just want to say this don't shoot unless the sword say it's annoying when someone els calls rockets when I'm not ready and then blame it on me for doing bad damage

Most of the time, it isn't me as the swordbearer dying. However, when I do... it goes down two main ways........ "welp guys... im sorry... I -blam!-ED UP!!!....." OR "Who the -blam!- didn't pay attention when I said BRING THAT -blam!-ER DOWN".... silence ensues.... then I restate my claim and point out that I am watching.... rockets hit... I hit crota, he -blam!-s me up... then 1, 2, 3, 4 more rockets pop inbound.... "yup we all fired".... just not at the -blam!-ing same time.

There are times when he gets up way faster than he should((For example, I hit him before he even goes down, and I only get three hits in and he is already up.)), but yeah, all those other excuses are bull.

2 RepliesAs a sword bearer, crota does bounce up quicker than normal occasionally (usually when he's almost dead). Drives me nuts. My only problem can be when I jump and try swinging away with the sword and it melees at crota instead. Fml

2 RepliesA guy comes and tells us to go to the room where the gatekeeper spawns. I told the team it was a bad idea. They thought I was a noob. They go down there and get smacked by the gatekeeper. But I, the swordbearer was blamed for it. After 2 wipes, I left.

Blowing yourself up with a rocket isn't a sword bearer mistake. It's a player mistake. Ie. It can happen to anyone. And yes I'm a good sword bearer. Most groups I help, I kill crota on the first attempt. Two sword kill with only four downs total. Mistakes do happen. You can't expect a sword bearer to be flawless every time. It seems like your sword bearer was inexperienced. For what it's worth, crota has kicked me and threw me in the air before. He will also pin you against that back wall if you go invisible and he walks into you. These things are legit excuses. If you have any experience you should already know this.
