PVP to get Thorn is Stupid
Making it so you have to do PvP to get Thorn is the dumbest thing in the game. Me and friends have been at this for almost 2 weeks and we still haven't got 200 points. The PvP is to hard and chaotic, either take the Thorn Bounty out of PvP, make it 1000 points of void damage to NPC enemies. Or nerf all the Class abilities, nerf the Hunter FULLSTOP! they are way to OP with the Blade Dancer Super Charge. Me and all my friend are level 32 with exotic and legendary gear, I would be luck to get a kill a game. It is pathetic, now I come from COD haveing normaly a 1.82 KtD so no I am not bad at PvP, Destiny PvP is just Shit.

I always had the bounty but never wanted to do it. I heard it was hard from posts like this. One day i was bored so i decided to do it. It only took a couple of hours for the whole bounty. My advice if you dont have word of crota during the pvp part get a void fusion rifle and machine gun and play it safe. Play the 3 on 3 game mode or free for all. Once you get machine gun ammo get in an open area where someone cant flank you and -blam!- them with the machine gun.

Took me two days to do the full bounty with a blue machine gun. And im not that good at pvp. Get good and get over the elitist im 32 bull. You make us look bad

Yeah it is pretty dumb, both the bounty and pvp. Though as you alluded to if pvp made more sense the bounty probably wouldn't be so bad. Have fun with the thorn should you ever get it, especially in pvp. It is grossly overpowered and makes the game a cakewalk. At least do it before they nerf it, cause they will and really everyone should want and expect it.

Destiny and cod are two different things if you arn't going to adapt then your kd will suffer

The thorn bounty always intimidated me. And a few games in I found it wasn't making much headway. Then, I started to play more defensively, avoid 2-1 or 3-1 situations and next thing I know I finished the bounty. Granted I had hunger or Crota. If you are having trouble with the bounty, change your tactics, it's possible and the thron bounty to me, is one of the most rewarding parts of the game. It turned me from a crucible hater to a huge fan of the crucible.

Edit : pro tip if youre seriously bad at pvp, and it sounds like you are, but you really really want thorn (which you won't use outside pvp) get the bounty as a warlock.

You guys focus too much on winning PVP you're idiots; Win or Lose in PVP getting Thorn bounty; as long as you make your kills with a void weapon and ending with a kd of 0.62 or above you're gaining points; get a lower kd and you're losing points; You dont have to win the crucible to get a kd of 0.62 or greater. You're frustrated cuz you keep winning crucible not realizing you're dying most of the time from attacking with a non-void weapon; admit it; you run out of ammo and use something not void; run out? Leave; start a new match with a new set of ammo for your void damage. This bounty literally takes 2-3 hours with a good strategy; win or lose 0.62 kd or higher you'll finish the bounty no problem. You dont have to win.

I've done it five times, 4 without a void primary. It takes 2-3 hours tops.

Thats because cod multiplayer is shit. No skill gap, just run and gun killing in less than half a second. It isnt hard.
