What is the difference between purple weapons and blue ones, and why can't I get past level 28
Im confused about raids and the strikes, could someone explain.

Hi Neemsdadream, The weapon system is based off rarity as follows: -White: Common -Green: Uncommon -Blue: Rare -Purple: Legenday -Gold: Exotic Legendary and Exotic weapons are the toughest to acquire, as a result have the best stats and attributes. The same rarity system goes for armor. After level 20 you will need to find armor which contains light to further your level. Armor you acquire from raids (Dark Below) has the highest level of light (36). The better the light level of a piece of armor, the further it will advance you. Raids are great fun, though they take quite a bit of teamwork and coordination to successfully complete. A team of 6 is recommended when trying out one for the first time. The Vault of Glass (located on Venus) is a great raid to try out, as the entry level is 26. I would recommend looking in the Recruitment section if you need to find a team. Be sure to include your console, and the fact that you are new to raids. 2 Repliesgetting past lvl 28 is where the grinding starts, buy yourself an exotic bit of armour( helmet, breast plate, gloves or legs) and upgrade all your armour ( legendary and exotic)to max, this will take you to a max lvl of 31. above lvl 31 you will need to do PVP in the Crucible or Iron Banner and imho is another kick in the pants to those of us who dont enjoy playing or want to play PVP.

hey man go look destiny videos on youtube. I learned a lot form watching different videos when I first started as I didn't have any friends to help me out. Download destiny app on your smartphone and you'll be ready to raid in no time. Do this at the start of every reset (every Tuesday) week: (these are located on the right side of your set destination screen) -Nightfall(you may not have unlocked it yet do eris morn or buy dlc if you haven't) this give you more experience -Weekly heroric, same as nightfall just not as hard and there is matchmaking for it now -Daily missions

The higher the light level the higher it will increase your player level once it is maxed out. The current max light level armor is 36. Level 36 armor can be obtained from Iron Banner and the Crotas End raid. Any exotic armor will also have a light level of 36 To get to max charecter level of 32 you need all four pieces of armor with a light level of 36. It can be any combination of Iron Banner, raid, or exotic as long as all are light level 36 To get yourself to 31 all you need to do is rank up with any vendor (cruciable, vangaurd, future war cult, etc) and buy thier armor. Once you max this armor you will be level 31. You can link up with people wanting to raid in the recruiting forum on this app or on other sites such as destinylfg.com or the100.io. You can also join a clan (which I would recommend) to find experienced players willing to help you learn raids as well as other aspects of the game. You can find clans in the groups section of the Bungie website or app. Hope that help clearify this for you Happy hunting gaurdian

Purple weapons have a higher attack and do more damage against high level enemies. As for your level your gear isnt leveled up all the way and you still have a blue chest piece . You need a purple chest piece and need to level up. Find a group to do vault of glass to get more shards to level your vanguard gear and you can get to level 31

Xbox one? Past 20 gaining levels is no longer about xp it's about your "light level" in order to get to lvl 32 you need to have all armor fully upgraded and at 36 light. Normal legendary (purple) armor only goes up to 33 light. You need to either get armor from the crota raid or iron banner (crusible) and level it fully. You can also use one piece of exotic (yellow) armor that is also 36 light. As for weapons, the difference between blue (rare) weapons and purple (legendary) Is the attached or damage you cam do with it. The order of weapons from lowest damage to highest is white (common) green (uncommon) blue (rare) purple from vult of glass raid(legendary) purple from crota raid (legendary) yellow (exotic) Any other questions?
