Note- I know destiny hasn't been out awhile but I'm talking to people who had the game b4 Xmas.
Anyone else have weird habits you can't break in destiny because of nostalgia.
For example I always salute the old loot cave when I go past it, and check on Randal while patrolling the cosmodrome.
Also whenever I see a material I HAVE to pick it up. Whether I am on a patrol, story mission, strike, or whatever. It doesn't even occur to me I have so many marks to spend on mats. Just because of the mat farming days of old.
Post your "veteran habits" here
Edit 1: my phone officially hates you guys lol. Ran into a shadow price today and that brought a smile to my face. Keep these great replies coming
Edit 2: how trailer is out today now we got to figure out what legendaries we will save because of all the memories we have had with these weapons.
Edit 3: sorry for the numerous edits :). Fatebringer is back, but no raid... How is a turning point in destiny's future and I think we are all interested to see what happens.

Always got to dance at the end of a strike. :)
-
Always having to pick up a engram even if it is green Whenever there is a public event I have to do it
-
Run around on patrol looking for something...... I'll know it when I find it! Finding chests and shooting random people to try and get them to come over. Usually doesn't work.... :(

Calling blue tracking fallen lasers "sperm bullets" Kneeling before Lord Saladin Shoulder dashing or warlock pushing friends to their death at the VOG ledges. Taking my sparrow all the way to phogoth Taking my sparrow all the way to the first gatekeeper Going left in VOG

Back in September I had a blue with tracking. -When Atheon was a push over. -When the Templar was suicidal.

You're not a vet if you've had a game 2 months before Christmas that just sounds ridiculous :/

Pick up mats immediately, even at the beginning of VoG. Dismantle anything green, even during a strike or nightfall. I still pick up chests when I see them, even if my glimmer is maxed.
-
Cringing in anxiety when turning in a legendary engram but remembering that they don't give blues anymore.
-
See a mat? Must grab! That a chest? Open! Never, ever, walk on stairs. Only jump. That's not a handrail, it's a balance beam. Must kick void beach ball, both of them. Always use the same terminal at the vault. Always talk to your vanguard mentor from the perch of the war table. Ppublic events are mandatory.
-
I don't pick up mats anymore. I shudder at the thought of how much time i wasted just doing that.
-
always sit on the Kell's throne still answer nope to "you think mind if we take their pikes?" still answer"nope" to "you sure this a good idea?" still go visit randall.... still yell "invisivandals" everytime I see a spawn of those ninja bastards
-
I dismantle green armors n guns immediately even during battle ... (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
Sometimes on Blind Watch, when the warning comes that heavy ammo is incoming, I run to the room under the spawn point near Zone A. Then I wonder where the heavy is before remembering it was moved quite awhile ago...
-
I still try to reload the icebreaker
-
I still go on my old farming runs for materials
-
I like that salute to the loot cave :)
-
Landing in patrol, going for a walk in the pattern of the resource spawn.
-
Must fire all ghorns after strike, raid, etc. Also I have to use my super or it just doesn't feel right
-
Edited by Ballermentality: 4/13/2015 2:36:07 PMI still like to believe that Mida's compass points me to chests...Even though it doesn't :(
-
Did they nerf Randals health???!?!!?

I like to wait for the band of roving pikes to appear, headshot one of the cheeky dregs off of one, then take it back to the initial spawn zone in the cosmodrome and wait for a lvl 2 to show up. Then I donate the vehicle and watch them enjoy the everloving shit out that thing. Brings me happy face. I was sat on the hill near the spawn for the Omnigul strike a few months back, sniping for the headshot bounty and the pikes came. I managed to headshot all three when they were passing through the broken section of the ship that the fallen hang out on, and they ended up all parked in a line. Next thing I know, a group of shiny new Christmas guardians come through on what I assume was the mission that gets you the sparrow. They all noticed the pikes and took one each. All three of them were just zooming about shooting each other and everything that moved, for a good ten minutes. I was sat the whole time, watching with a fondness that perhaps a father might experience when watching his child ride a bicycle for the first time lol. I waved as they eventually carried on with the mission, off up the hill towards Skywatch. The feeling that I just created an amazing Destiny memory for my fellow guardians was one I have experienced many times since September, but none come close to this one.

i havent played very long... mid january... but i have already formed lovely habits... i slide into vendors too... i still try to push any fireteam member off the tower if they arw in the vault or afk... i salute anyone under level twenty and if im close enough ill inspect them and if the how really low grimiore ill dance with them and follow them around... possibly invite to the party if im goin solo... i have my predetermined routes and spots for most everywhere... i always tbag bosses, hopefully before their body disintegrates to ash... i frantically reload all my guns whenever theres a pause in action... i always boost jump on my sparrow over every ramp i can... i dnce on chests... a lot i melee fireteams members off of cliffs occasionally... god i love shoulder charge if someone else dances i have to join im sure theres a million more i do and dont even realize...
