So I was wondering if the amount of times players die in a nightfall affects their end reward as I noticed my fire team got exotics when no one died but when we start to die a couple times during the nightfall, our end rewards are shards or energy.
EDIT So from the various different feedback that was received I see now that it does not affect it, some people are just having this type of situation but it's just luck in the end. It would be nice to get better rewards for skill but maybe it's not in our destiny.

It's RNG, nothing affects it not even bungie
-
ran it three times today - never died once - got nothing but energies - i want my heavy ammo packs back
-
I doubt it. I didn't die on any if my 3 today. I got Glasshouse, Thunderlord, and 12 ascendant shards. Random. Shitty, but random.
-
From what i seen if you die alot, you get better rewards.
-
I saw a video and I guy just kept dying and he got a good reward and the people who did work got shit.
-
Complete RNG

Lol my level 29 got carried long ago. I had like 26 kills and about 10 deaths- but I did do a whole lot of damage to the boss. I got a Gjallarhorn.
-
I got mask of the third man while my teammates got crap, shards and energy, I killed valus and they kept dying, a lot , I had to run into a fat colossus arms about 10 times each since they really wanted to melee kill a colossus, I just said nothing, till I got my exotic
-
I think it's better if you die lol I don't even die and other buddy's that keep dieing get better loot then I do -_-

I don't think so but u know when someone or you have to leave and come back I do believe that does just becuase I feel like it
-
Its a myth. Everything is random
-
No I died like 5-6 times and got Mida tool
-
No I solo nightfalls and don't die and I can get crap
-
Nope! Not one bit! I just played with my regular fire team made up of 2x 31s and a 29, everyone died but I died the least. Rewards where........ 12 strange coins for me The last word for the 29 The gallahorn for the other 31 Deaths have absolutely no baring on the reward table.
-
I think so i just soloed it flawless and got gjallarhorn
-
Only thing I've noticed is that if there's a big gap in the amount of kills of me vs. the other person(s) then they have a very high chance of getting an exotic. Case in point, my last Nexus run on my Warlock I had 215 kills...other person had 41 and got an exotic to my 7 shards. This has happened very consistently and every time I have at least 2-3x the kills vs. everyone else, an exotic has dropped for the lowest performer. I know Nightfalls are supposed to be RNG but this pattern has been 100% repeatable in all my Nightfall runs. As long as there is a big gap vs. the low performer, that person has consistently gotten an Exotic in my runs.
-
Maybe, just maybe... Lets say when you complete a Nightfall without dying, you have a 50% chance to get an exotic, but maybe everytime you die you lose 5% of that exotic chance. Until you hit 1% of an exotic chance. This has no facts, just my theory.

If they do it really a doesn't affect them much. I haven't noticed a difference unless I join at the last minute. If I join a friends NF at the end I almost always get something terrible.
-
Got my second suros today from nf.i died plenty.
-
I always do the best I can with what I have. In cruc im almost always on top same with strikes and i have gotten plenty of crap.and plenty of exos/leggys. So in my opinion its RNG.
-
No. I died in the non-darkness zone before the Tank and still got Ghorn. Speed doesn't matter either. Took me 45-50 minutes to solo.
-
No, I often solo it and get shite.... Unless I'm meant to die...lol
-
I don't think so because I've done a Nightfall without dying a few times and gotten coins and ascendant materials and I've done ones where I died a bit and gotten exotics. RNG is just a fickle hussy.
