Am trying to solo Crota (normal) but I don't have Ghorn. Does anyone know if it's possible to down him without Ghorn? I tried flaming knife, Hunger of Crota (two shots), grenade, but it doesn't look like enough total damage to make him kneel. Is there way to do it? I'm thinking of trying three Truth shots with flaming knife (to keep him from shield re-gen). Edit: should have specified I'm running a hunter. Thanks for the replies!
